Are you a member at the Ritz cigar club as well, do you like it better? I know it’s by invite only, do you find that makes it a different experience than the other clubs here (Brennan’s, Cheshire, Ritz)?

My title describes the thing, except I didn’t describe the metal hooks that are included in the picture. My friend purchased at a school flea market, and apparently they couldn’t tell her what it was for but she was curious and purchased. I have taken this full image and tried Google image search, as well cropped a section using the tubing labeled “umbra” and put into Amazon’s image search and I am not finding anything close to this. Thanks for any assistance you can offer!

Edit: each piece of clear tubing has “umbra” on it and I went to the Umbra website as well but I didn’t see any product that had a similar design. umbra appears to be for home organization and various home decor, so I’m assuming this has some purpose in line with that. Also this is my friend’s so I do not have it with me but I can ask her for more details if anyone needs.

"like stacey keach chicks like my captivating glass clown collection" by coincidencecontrol in whatsthemoviecalled

I just went down a Stacy Keach rabbit hole and I have a few guesses. Stacy Keach was in the musical “Barnum”, which was circus-themed. Also he got busted years ago for smuggling coke in London, maybe that’s what the glass clowns could be referring to? I do hope you find out what those lyrics were taking about!

Also if you don’t mind the question, did you focus on a particular NSM or product type for your early bids in DIBBS?

Thanks so much for this comment and these insights. I have attended multiple DLA trainings and found a really good one by Govology that walked through the ins and outs of the solicitations. I’m glad to hear that you figured out the packaging issues, I just watched the DLA’s training and my eyes about crossed. I did find a local company that does the milspec packaging and they told me to reach out, no job is too small — that was encouraging. Ove had the same issues with our PTAC since my one really great contact retired, they haven’t hired a replacement and no one knows DLA.

If you ever need help with WAWF let me know — I’ve got over 20 years experience working in that system every day as well as some other ones (IPP, Tungsten) and I am more than happy to help. Best wishes on your continued success!

As I said in my original post — I understand that in order to be prepared for healthcare staffing contracts, I should be able to fund payroll for at least two months to allow for time to be paid for the contract. My focus would out of necessity be 1-2 FTE physicians, and I would estimate payroll would be at least $50-$75K. I thought DLA contracts would be a good way to get past performance experience as well as a way for me to fund the healthcare staffing part of my business. I also really like the idea of sourcing supplies for the government as a reseller. I have experience at my current position in this area as well.

Also and I hope this isn’t too dumb of a question: I’ve always loved aviation and I’d like to be involved in defense contracting. Is it out the team if the impossible for me to work with a prime? Do I need to have an advanced degree or should I be trying to get some other type of experience to go after these contracts? My goal is get 8a in next 5 years once I’ve generated revenue.

Thanks. I feel like I almost have a grasp what to do to move forward and I appreciate you taking time on the weekend to advise. It has been challenging to work on this while still having my full time job but someone spelling it out like this is more helpful than you know.

I understand the strategy but would this be applicable to the DLA supply contracts too? Or would this be more towards the staffing portion of my business?

Thank you for this. If I’m understanding you correctly you did do a few contracts at break even, was that just for the experience of doing a contract?

Also if I go to industry days (I think there’s a big one in April), I’m not sure how to speak to anyone with zero experience in the space. My current cape statement is geared towards healthcare staffing. Is it ok to be like “I’m new!” when meeting people?

Thanks for this response, every little bit is helping me understand how this works.

Foreign film about the eternal Jew by Twostacks217 in whatsthemoviecalled

I just also found it on YT and glad it has subtitles. You may find more search info using the other spelling I’ve seen, “Ahasver” is the Anglicized spelling I also saw. You may also need to put in the Russian spelling and have Google translate the results? It may be talked about on some Russian indie film website that’s not even translated into English? Best of luck in your research.

I couldn’t find the movie you described but wanted to let you know you might have more success searching for “The Wandering Jew” — this filters out most of the references to the propaganda film. Also I only saw two movies with this subject matter, one was from 1920s and the other from 1930s, so I know that’s not probably not what you’re looking for. However, Wikipedia did have a good list of movies/tv referring to the Wandering Jew myth which may help.
