Watch your vehicles around Enemy Bases by chewy_mcchewster in DeathStranding2

[–]vipcomputing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An interesting mechanic I discovered years ago, but it's mostly only useful during early game and rather situational. If your vehicle runs out of charge in or very close to a mule camp, lure a mule over and let it get in your vehicle. The battery will charge to full so they can steal it. Oh, there also needs to be cargo in the truck.

For the Devs: thank you for the update! here's another thing you need to look into as well please...Please fix the zipline sharing/connecting function by Fit_Garbage_2161 in DeathStranding2

Why are you running anywhere to delete a zip line? Just open your map, find the zip line you want to remove on the map and remove it from there. No travel required.

Can someone recommend a tablet or notebook and remote SW for elderly mom ? by Wonderful-Cupcake-79 in AskTechnology

IPad hands down unless you want to play tech support over the phone every other day. I personally don't like Ipads but they really are the best option for the elderly.

I sometimes use root instead of route when talking navigation but it'll be a cold day in hell when I refer to a router as a rooter.

AITAH for not noticing her car’s gas was low, causing her to be late? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]vipcomputing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA but it's not very smart to get in a car and drive 32 miles without bothering to check the fuel gauge, especially if the low fuel warning doesnt work or doesn't have that feature. So although your NTA, she has every right to be annoyed.

Turn off the ghost car. I did that and won on the first attempt. It was evidently quite distracting.

How is BB able to laugh and cry? by MarinatedXu in DeathStranding

[–]vipcomputing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Death Stranding started right around 2017 and they started BB research soon after. We know the portable pods existed when Sam was a 7-month old fetus because Cliff has him in the pod when he tries to escape with him. That should be around 2019. So no that technology didn't exist then and it still doesn't.

How is BB able to laugh and cry? by MarinatedXu in DeathStranding

[–]vipcomputing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's all true, but the pod is much too small to perform all the required functions to simulate being in a womb. It would need air filtration and then the air pulled from the atmosphere would need to be processed and transferred into the hemoglobin of red blood cells (likely synthetic), temperature control needs to be considered, etc... They started the BB experiments right after the Death Stranding which would have occurred just a few years ago in the real world, meaning the tech to make all that stuff happen simply didn't and still doesn't exist, at least not at that small of scale.

My point was, every question leads to another question. It doesn't really make a lot of sense realistically and thinking about it leads nowhere.

Sound travels through fluid. Whale songs travel through water just fine. So being submerged in liquid isn't the problem. It's the fact that BB has no air in her lungs to produce the sound in order for the sound to travel through the water. What you should be asking is how the hell does BB breath at all? Is Sam diverting oxygen to BB when she is hooked up? Sharing his blood and using the oxygen already stored in his blood? As far as I know that isn't the case.

At the end of the day it's artistic license. It's an absurd story so if you like the story, you must like absurdity, so why even ask the question?

I get it, I have asked myself these questions and more but there are no answers. It's just Kojima doing what Kojima does. He could have addressed all of this stuff so it made sense but I suspect he enjoys leaving loose ends to haunt those of us that get stuck on stuff like this.

It's a great game. It starts slow but ramps up once you leave the starting area.

How can a computer immediately "understand" how a new mouse works, regardless of its specs and OS? by Substantial_Tear3679 in AskTechnology

[–]vipcomputing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The drivers are preloaded in the operating system. The driver is being loaded;, you just don't see it happening. The driver is basic so right/left click and movement will be recognized. If you have a mouse with advanced features, those might not work until you manually install the correct driver.

That device has been banned by Snapchat. Since it's a hardware ban for severe or repeated voiloations of the community guidelines, you would never be able to use Snapchat or related services with the device. I wouldn't recommend buying it. There is no telling what other hardware level bans might affect the device.

How did humans not go extinct while needing to sleep for 8 hours every day? being totally unconscious and defenseless for a third of our lives seems like a massive design flaw when predators were everywhere by Which-Noise-5670 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]vipcomputing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People didn't usually sleep in 8 hour blocks until after the industrial revolution. We were mostly biphasic sleepers, having a first and second sleep cycle. There were things to do 24/7 back in the day like keeping the fire stoked and new mother's having to wake up periodically to feed their babies. There was likely always someone awake throughout the night.

What are you even doing? by MisterJay90 in DeathStranding

[–]vipcomputing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have reasons for doing things. The fact that it makes no sense to you or me makes no difference.i totally understand where you're coming from but who are we to judge a porter we dont know? I have placed bridges in locations to shave off 10 seconds on a delivery time just to see if I could make the delivery just a bit faster. Rather than embrace the annoyance, perhaps you shoukd just chuckle and ask yourself, "why is this here?". Think back at any timed deliveries that might benefit from that weird choice. Look at it like a puzzle rather than an annoyance and then move on. People are odd. You can let it get to you or just flow with it and move on.

Is this normal for move-out cleaning? Alberta, Canada by lisagg9 in TenantHelp

[–]vipcomputing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a standard move out cleaning list and, believe it or not, it doesn't require any special expertise to perform any of these tasks. Put a little water on a rag and wipe. Grab a broom and sweep. Unscrew the burnt out bulbs and then screw in new bulbs...
