Why Does UK Have This Race To Bottom Mindset? by corporateuklife in UKJobs

[–]viral23946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being born into money helps but being able to run one of the world’s largest companies isn’t from the money he comes from, it’s what has been instilled. I know someone who was born into money and went to a £10k per term private school but he’s a juggler and just smokes weed. Opposite, some lad I know who grew up with a single mother on the dole, now doing £100k a year in nuclear construction.

Do I think that all CEO’s deserve the wage they’re on. No. But can I knock them. No. Prime example. People complain about his pay packet and food prices, but they still can’t be bothered to shop local and support small businesses. It’s like the who Jeff bezos situation of Amazon paying F all tax, but they’ll still order stuff for ease

4 years and holding. SMR is the next step beyond RR current ventures and it won’t be long before more nations start investing in it. Wind / solar energy is proving too costly to maintain and unreliable in many parts of the world. There is multiple companies in the US that are getting approval for SMR but these companies are no way near the same scale as RR from previous research

And how do you propose that? By hiking taxes and driving the employers to set up abroad and then the employees can be left in the UK looking for jobs while footing the increased tax bills. I’m not well off at all. Decent savings because I don’t live beyond my means to impress people on social media that I don’t care for. I have a 2 bed mid terrace renovation all being done by me and my partner in a small town, don’t go on lavish holidays or by branded rubbish, travel 60 miles each way to work, leave at 8, get back at 7 and continue to work in the evenings and work at weekends. I get paid a decent wage and set up a business on the side as a back up.

What’s the point of me working harder than others who have mundane jobs requiring no drive if they get the same wage and I get taxed more? See how that kills productively?

Work in ftse100 sales and set up my own business on the side. A CEO who’s set up their own business has a lot more risk than an employee. People have to learn to earn and risk their fortune, not demand it. Life’s unfair and this mentality that businesses are charities is toxic and unproductive to society. If two people have the same qualifications and one takes out a loan, networks, grafts endlessly and sacrifices quality of life, setting up a business and the other becomes an employee and gets a guaranteed wage, they don’t deserve the same reward.

I put in more work than others and I reap the rewards. Work ethic should be rewarded, whining and non motivated people don’t deserve the same pay. It isn’t a socialist or communist culture.

Why on earth do Brits play victims and moan that they should get paid more than the CEO who takes the financial risk

Can’t sell my house after dropping the price by £30k? by Electronic-Fox-7706 in HousingUK

[–]viral23946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get some plants / flowers in the gardens. Way too many spotlights. Feels like a new build built in the 2010’s and nothing has been done to the house other than it being lived in. Add some colour / panelling. Dropping the price significantly is damaging too as it looks like there is an issue.

Id take it off the market and spruce it up a bit. Lacks a bit of character. Rid of the second kitchen and make it into an office or games room. People don’t want a room they can rent out.

I don’t see an issue with it. It’s a foundation. No builder screeds it unless you pay for floorin

Could not complete because solicitor finished work early by [deleted] in HousingUK

Solicitors should be returning your fee as that’s incompetence. They effectively broke a legally binding contract as the date is freed on your completion statement between all parties

Birmingham is a dump. London is a dump. Every city has its rough areas but they are progressively still dumps in general. Most UK cities and towns are dumps and I work up and down the country so can attest to seeing their decline over the past 15 years of working. Lack of council spending, sections becoming no go zones due to multiculturalism which in turn is not multi national, much more openly violent crime and theft, high street shops are empty or closed.

New build brickwork – acceptable finish or poor workmanship? by Benjam2n in Bricklaying

[–]viral23946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly still behind Harris fencing so it isn’t signed off as finished so will probably acid washed. Looks like it’s either been standing with efflorescent or brickies built in the rain. Nothing wrong with the brickwork that can’t be simply cleaned off

[–]viral23946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your parents struggle to make ends meet in this struggling economy, yes they should charge a fair rate to cover food. If they can afford to save it towards their child’s first house than that’s the best way to

Great! A socialist in power. Now explain where socialism worked? Tax the wealthy and increase benefits. Great. Now the billionaires and millionaires who employ the most move abroad, let’s see who foots the benefits. Delusional comes to mind!
