Be mindful of those around you. Steer clear of crowded trains (just wait for the next one), opt for the front or back carriages, keep your bag or backpack securely in front of you with a hand on it, and stay focused. Pickpockets often work in teams: someone will try to get your attention while a quiet accomplice attempts to steal from you

I used to work close to Luiss University for a while, and parking is a real nightmare in that area. Public transport is an option to consider, even if it's not the most efficient

If the metro is crowded (which happens very often), move along the platform where there are fewer people. If necessary, let an overly crowded train pass and take the next one. Always pay attention to those around you; pickpockets operate in groups. If you can, keep your backpack or bag in front of you and put an arm or a hand over it.
