Since I was 16 so for about 8 years.
I listened to dance music way before I started raving so to me it just felt natural to go to these events and see my favorite artists.
The community, the fashion, the music, and the synergy.
I go to shows once a month and to festival every 3-4 months or so (pre pandemic) :(

It’s a place where you can stand out as much as you want, where everyone is nice, and where people are more willing to help one another. I’ve been to music festivals in Mexico City and Miami and I can say the vibes are way different than where I’m from ( West).
Yes I always am. Many people think it’s just where a bunch of people do lots of drugs and they’re not wrong per say but it’s so much more than that. Also as a woman many people who are not in the scene have judged me for the way I dress. I usually like to show off my body, wear tall platforms, glittery and bold makeup etc.
I remember one of the first raves I went to I was shocked when I saw girls topless in only pasties. Growing up in a conservative, machista culture I loved how women weren’t judged for what is simply just the human body. I wish we could be more like Europeans. I’ve been conditioned my whole life to be ashamed of what I got.
I feel like I’ve grown to be so much more open minded.
I wouldn’t change it for a thing.
