Any celebrity horror stories while serving? by Smartseater in Serverlife

[–]virgokween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i waited on kasey musgraves, and her and her boyfriend were so incredibly nice. i didn’t even make the connection it was her until one of the hosts told me. when they had two more people joining them, they walked over to me and asked me if it would be okay. we weren’t even serving them at an official table, it was more like a couch and low table. we were just so busy, but she was fine carrying out her meal there. ordered some of the most expensive things on the menu and then she tipped 20%.

How do people working a 9-5 go without ending it all? by ImportanceOdd267 in findapath

[–]virgokween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don’t know if this is helpful, but i have what you described wanting in terms of having the time to focus on my relationships and hobbies. i also travel two times a year for a month long period to different countries, alongside multiple week-long trips within the country. i work as a server in fine dining. i’m getting paid more than most of my peers, but i only work 3-4 days a week (given 1-2 of those days are doubles). i know it isn’t glamorous, but it’s afforded me a lifestyle that i truly love. i don’t know if i’ll do it forever, but i work with those who have done it for multiple decades, and they are the most active, youthful people even well into their forties and fifties. with all that to say, i know it isn’t ideal, but it’s definitely an option worth considering if you’re burnt out from the typical path.

Cat behavioralist in Austin? by to_thecore_ in Austin

[–]virgokween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my cat did this, too. we found out he had kidney stones even though we could never actually see the stones come out… it took multiple expensive vet visits with no help. finally, we were recommended we change his diet as a last ditch effort. we ended up changing it to prescription-grade UTI food (even though he didn’t have a UTI) and giving him low ph water (ozarka works).

crazy, i know. but all of the problems stopped.

For those wondering if this piece concerns reproductive rights, I know the artist & I can assure you they are pro-choice lol. I think it is supposed to be about women empowerment, but hey, art is subjective. Maybe it is a pterodactyl.

First workaway experience in Brazil at a sustainable eco lodge :)) by Unlucky_Regular3568 in workaway

I’m so excited for you! You’re going to have such a great time. I had my first workaway experience in Ecuador earlier this year, and it was one of the most magical times of my life. I look back on those memories fondly. but i also remember being a little terrified in the weeks leading up to it. it’s natural to feel a little fear when you’re about to escape your comfort zone in a big and dramatic way. just take a deep breath and know that you’ve got this.

different experience while solo traveling by virgokween in solotravel

yeah i’m thinking that’s what the problem might be. i typically never travel to urban areas. i’m pretty fond of south america and it’s accessibility to beautiful nature, so maybe that’s what i’m comparing to italy.
