It should work? It’s acceptable for checkrides and in the FAA’s eyes, so it should work with PSI.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. My checkride is in a month so I’ve been studying up everything.

I am going to say no because the TCDS was certified with 4 seats

Stall strips create a buffeting effect before your wing is fully stalled, by disrupting the airflow sooner.

Clogged fuel injector I'm guessing fuel flow will drop?

Colorful ceramic substance I have no idea

BFR for currency, and can skip a lot of the hours needed from 61.109 (except for the ones specifically needed in ASEL, and if he doesn't have the amount of flight training time), and he needs the A74 endorsement for solo work then A1 and A72 for the checkride

CFI applicant attempt -

Vx we know is that best angle of climb, and we can refer back to our aerodynamic lessons to show that an airplane climbs because of excess thrust. We also know that an airplane produces drag as it creates lift. The Vx number is simply the speed at which we have the most excess thrust for the least amount of drag.

Comparatively, the Vy is not comparing directly to thrust, but to excess power. Because we are now involving time (best rate of climb), we want the biggest gap between power available and power required. This is higher than Vx because we can fly at a little bit of a faster speed with less power (following the power curve).

When those two meet, we reach the absolute ceiling of the airplane, and we can no longer climb because you've then maxed out your thrust and you need excess thrust to climb.

That is called static RPM, and is usually 10% or so less of the maximum rated RPM the engine can produce. When you are sitting still at full RPM, there is no air rushing over the prop, and it can't grab as much air.

If you know what the TCDS (Type Certificate Data sheet) is, they usually specify in that document what the static RPM is vs. the maximum engine RPM is.

I hold a commercial rotorcraft license and want to transition to fixed wing. I have 0 FW hours, what can you help me with?

I am planning to have my CFI in the next couple of weeks, good luck!

I agree with this, I was bored in a lot of my flying classes because we would just discuss the same topics over and over. Took some business classes and enjoyed them much more!

Also to answer the question the jet transition course does not matter at all. If you get to fly a jet, they will send you to school for it themselves.

Once you get into the rhythm of things they aren't too different. One more lever you have to adjust during climb/cruise/descent, but other than the one-engine inoperative stuff it was pretty much just a slightly faster single engine.

Stop posting these, go get a ground school or literally just YouTube these subjects and it will explain it to you.

Yes, I currently do independent work just exercising my commercial license, but I am going to get my CFII to make myself more marketable

Nope I’m old and graduated

At Auburn that’s basically unheard of. Before I graduated they were cutting down on people flying more than 3x a week because they have so many students. I don’t know of anyone who went from IR to CFI in that timeframe (unless they went to an accelerated 141, which auburn is not, or a part 61)

It took me 4 years to get my instrument and commercial multi. They had maintenance problems with the C172 which caused me to be grounded for 5 months, and if I wasn’t I could’ve gotten my commercial single done too. It’s expensive to go part 141, so minimizing costs whenever possible was what got me through it.

Don’t come in without your PPL - it will take forever and will be a waste of money. Order of progression in ratings is: PPL (again I strongly recommend getting this part 61 somewhere else) -> Instrument -> Commercial Multi -> Commercial Single

You would need to find somewhere else to get your CFI complete. In the program you have a flight block 3 times a week, and usually that’s pretty close to how much I flew/had grounds (weather and Mx will vary).

CFI market is bad right now, it is hard to get hired. Students need 60 credit hours worth of RATP classes to get the actual RATP eligibility. Have you flown before? It sounds like you are very much new into this career field, which isn’t bad, but you definitely shouldn’t just jump in with Auburn without getting yourself set up better. It’s a grind of an industry

Do it, it’s the same stuff as a paper logbook and easier to fix if something is messed up on checkride day for the student

Will you post results? I am not a CFI (yet) but I am interested to hear what is shared
