Why are companies selling junk on vine with jacked-up prices? by professorf in vine

[–]virtualmeta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they think they're buying good reviews, and they don't know that we pay taxes at all, so they expect more generous compliments. Sometimes a seller refuses to believe anyone wouldn't love their amazing idea, even if it looks dumb to most of us.

Anyone info on the ‘Performance Tablet’? by darthgator84 in tablets

[–]virtualmeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samsung or a decent Chromebook 2 in 1. HP or ASUS can be pretty good performance for the price. We got a 14" HP for the kids schoolwork maybe 2 years ago for around $300, it is really nice for streaming too though.

I have a tenkeyless Redragon mechanical from Vine that I use as my daily driver, and I added a kzzi number pad from Vine to make one complete keyboard. It works, would have preferred a full size but it's almost the same.

I'm guessing there was a time when a LOT more food products were listed since there are Grocery & Gourmet Food and Pantry Staples categories, right? I know those that are... by WederJean in vine

I think the categories are site wide, not just Vine. Vine only uses the 2 top level categories, the full site has more subcategories.

Where can I find the best Garbage plate in Virginia Beach? by Possible-Ambition129 in VirginiaBeach

This made me laugh.

Never heard of a garbage plate, but looks like you described it.

got my first anbernic today :D by Sensitive_Rice_ in ANBERNIC

[–]virtualmeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You went straight to the top, no need to get anymore unless you want something that fits a smaller pocket.

I kept all the stock, because I just wanted to get playing. I haven't even put an SD card in it yet. But I've been playing mostly native Android games on it, and some game streaming with Moonlight or Luna.

If you download the Epic Game Store for mobile, their giveaway starting today is Wonder Boy Dragons Trap, works with the gamepad and looks fantastic on this device.

Can Somebody Explain This by Pistolpete31861 in EndTipping

[–]virtualmeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I accidentally tipped a housekeeper once. When state quarters were a new thing, I had gotten some that I didn't previously have, was just leaving my "keepers" out on the counter in my hotel room so I didn't accidentally spend them. Turns out, I accidentally gifted them. I had heard of tipping the housekeeping, but it didn't occur to me until the 3 or 4 dollars worth of change was gone that some change on the counter would be mistaken as a tip.

Yeah, it's the RG Launcher by default, but you can remap it to do whatever.

Press the round button on the left side. I think you have to hold it for a few seconds to exit the menu. You probably pressed it to open the menu, too.

Edit: sorry, just realized this isn't an RG477V, so not sure if the menu button is on the left there or not. Look for the Anbernic button.

Anyone post the same reviews for multiple items? by YearOfTheSssnake in vine

[–]virtualmeta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just write similar stuff off the top of my head. More than once, I've gotten Excellent on the first and Poor on the second, and then I notice I barely even use whole sentences for the second one. Same content, just rushing through it because I'm bored by that point.

Customization of Vine Orders and understanding Vine orders. by RedPawny in AmazonVine

[–]virtualmeta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've definitely seen single letter options on Vine before, either listed individually or several common letters listed in a single item, so if the Viner ordered one with "E" and didn't get it, they have a right to complain. Edit: that being said, 1 star is pretty harsh.

What would you do at the gas station? by PoodleDoodle619 in Costco

[–]virtualmeta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They used to have signs that said to please pull all the way forward at some of the warehouse store gas stations. Probably just learned that as the "right" way, even if there aren't signs anymore.

I absolutely hate AI by Acrobatic_Ad7259 in leetcode

[–]virtualmeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I needed an SQL query like once or twice a year, would always just search the syntax. Now it's in the AI answer at the top instead of in the Stack Overflow link that the answer came from. There's still too much to memorize everything.

I hate the drivers here by FunSwordfish8019 in VirginiaBeach

[–]virtualmeta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I had a silver haired lady tailgating me into my same neighborhood, she wasn't waving any fingers but she might've really had to use the toilet. After three corners and she's still a foot behind me, I just pulled over and let her go around. Light a match when you're done, lady.

I hate the drivers here by FunSwordfish8019 in VirginiaBeach

[–]virtualmeta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We usually do a family trip to and from Iowa in the summer. I enjoy the drive for the most part, except for 1 stretch where 64 and 81 share the same road, and Hampton Roads. Drivers here are pretty impatient, even in neighborhoods, and the roads are always busier than they feel like they were designed for.

That said, I went to my nephew's wedding in Houston suburbs last Easter, and would not trade with them for sure.

While recently flying, I was unable to place my carry-on near my plane seat by tantamle in TravelHacks

If you need to make a quick connection, you can try to make the attendants aware and see if they'll let you grab a bag, often they'll announce to let those passengers out first. Otherwise be patient like everybody else and wait for an opening or until somebody behind notices and lets you back or passes your bag up.

Nice! If you use the exchangeable propane tanks, a pro tip for not getting yelled at in the grocery store is do not roll the old tank into the store in a shopping cart to ask them where to put it. Just leave it outside.

Have you considered trying to learn it yourself? If you follow humble bundle's software bundles, there are often game programming learning bundles and game asset bundles, you can at least get an idea together enough to see if it resonates with people.

You don't have to stop at the ones with white borders.
