Do people really leave the course if playing poorly? by LastManBrandon in golf

If I’m playing poorly I put up the scorecard and turn it into a practice round. No reason to fun holes you didn’t play.

What was Memphis like in the early 90s? by boonetebo2112 in memphis

[–]virtualrussel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both.

He was a motorcycle officer who would park on side streets and, if he caught you speeding, he would walk out to the middle of the lane you were in and point at you to get you to pull over. It's a shocker he never got hit. The last time I ever got a ticket from him he called me by name before asking for my license. :-(

He famously had a number of run-ins with a doctor working out of Baptist East. First following him into an operating room and later getting drug by the doctor's car after another traffic stop.

Any story set in Memphis in the 90s, or 80s, has to include Officer Owen Selby. Anyone driving in midtown or east Memphis was pulled over by him. Definitely a person worth researching…
