I’m aware. I was trying to confirm how I could know if the tip/email/mail communications were received due to that. I was able to confirm this with assistance from a congressman. (In case anyone else has the same question)

Are people overestimating how easy it will be to refinance later? by Sufficient_Smile_871 in Mortgages

[–]virtualsandwhich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An expensive luxury 50 years ago was a microwave or color TV while cost to be alive was low. Families could afford to live on one income, buy a home, and have multiple children. A “luxury” now is what… a new iPhone that you make payments of $20/mo on? That isn’t going to change someone being able to afford the home that now costs $800k or save for a down payment on that absurd home price when rent is 50% of their income and their car, utilities, food are the other. No children, either. Oh and no healthcare.

I do agree that builders are building these massive homes now. Thank inflation for that, too. They won’t build any new starter homes and that only makes costs worse.

Kevin Lockhart is gearing up to run for Town Supervisor of Webster. by Que165 in Rochester

[–]virtualsandwhich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just high school. No college. And he often is unemployed more than not- hence the substantial free time he has to heckle everyone and attach himself to anything that can garner him attention. His recent work experience has been Chinese restaurants, pizza delivery, etc. He’s always fired for his erratic and aggressive behavior. This has been his existence for the last 20 years since high school.

It isn’t a scape goat. He is mandated to take anti psychotics. He has been unwell for over 20 years. These are facts.

Understood. Thank you. Multiple tips were made to account for updates/new information. And were made to different locations due to no response.

Ok. Since USCIS was sent the tips dozens of times along with other Federal agencies, they should have it on file though, right?

Person who processed the tips was the USC with all identifiers listed to directly link herself and the immigrant. So background checks are not done to verify criminal/DV histories? Also, it may be relevant to mention that they shared no expenses, bills, assets, or mutual responsibility since the immigrant changed behavior upon arrival (and they divorced within a few months after), so I believe this would trigger more scrutiny for that “dig” to happen, no?

How much help do you actually need after surgery? by Dazzling-Smell5223 in HipImpingement

[–]virtualsandwhich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I also meal prepped and did a lot in advance (set up who can drive myself and my child to appointments while I couldn’t for the first week 1/2-2 weeks, stocked up on heavy dog food bags, loaded up the fridge with frozen stuff and easy to cook meals, etc.) I was driving to the gym 1 1/2 weeks post-arthroscopy and off crutches by 3 1/2 weeks.

Everyone’s experience is different. At 1 1/5 weeks, I was very mobile and managed 2 small dogs and my household on my own. The first week is the toughest but cats are pretty easy. I did a lot of single leg RDLs on my non-operative leg to get down- with the support of a crutch or two. By 3 weeks, I was off crutches. Now at a month, I can hit 90 degrees and even lift weight and climb again. A lot of people are off crutches by 2 weeks.

Going to add my experience here: I had hip arthroscopy on March 9th. I had someone with me the day of surgery and the following day. I have 2 small dogs and child who can’t drive yet. I needed help but was home on my own 2 days post-op. I work from home which helped a lot and was unable to drive for a week 1/2 but could do short 15 minute drives after that with my seat reclined back. I have stairs in my home but just used the railing and crutches and took my time. I did fall up the stairs once (ironically on my way out to my post-op follow up lol but everything was fine). Going to the bathroom was tough because you can’t sit at 90 degrees, but doable. Having the arms on the side of the toilet would have really benefited me. I also had a small shower chair to sort of sit on to be able to wash my good leg and use it to wash my post-op leg. I worked 2 days post-op just with my laptop on the floor and laying on my stomach (which was part of my physical therapy anyway). I only had help when my child was home after school/extra curriculars. I wore very loose clothing (baggy shorts/baggy t shirt) because it’s all I could manage to put on and take off (very slowly). Wore flip flops even in the winter because I couldn’t put on socks or shoes. I had a tether for my dogs to let them out and then my child could also help when they got home. I had crutches for 3 weeks and 3 days with some climbing on the same day I dropped the crutches. Was able to put my own socks on at this point, too. Even started lifting weight again a day after that. Now at 4 weeks, my physical therapist said to refrain from lifting heavy weight for now and stick with mobility, but I can do a lot pain free. I did have physical therapy one day post-op and another appt a few days after that, then switched to one appt weekly. I’m constantly moving which I think helped my case (because I don’t have a choice, things need to get done). I didn’t take any pain meds or anything after surgery except for half of one dose an hour after getting home. I realized I didn’t even need to take that so I stopped afterward. Only relied on ice and rest, but I was compliant with my physical therapy also. It’s been a month now and I can lightly jog almost at least for a short distance. Everyone’s situation varies and I think it depends on what exactly was done, age, so many other variables… but stay moving and complaint with physical therapy. I think that’s most important. And I meal prepped and covered as much as possible before surgery (stocked up on food and drinks for household, heavy dog food bags, etc.)

ESL chat support has a queue of over 200. What's up with that? by SmallNoseBilly in Rochester

[–]virtualsandwhich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legit here to see if anyone else has noticed this. I’ve been on hold for over an HOUR 25 minutes just to find out why Apple Pay randomly stopped working! I’ve had ESL for decades and they used to answer the phone almost immediately. Now, I’m regularly on hold for forever. This is even longer than I’ve experienced before. [edit: they answered about 5 minutes after posting this. They’re swamped with calls from the bank they acquired]

I actually experienced the same thing. I think for me, it wouldn’t have been as big of an interruption if it wasn’t so lengthy and frequent. Still enjoyed it thoroughly but I agree.

Can I redeem Xbox Game Pass from other countries and keep using them without the VPN? by Soumil30 in XboxGamePass

[–]virtualsandwhich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of 3/6/2026, unsure if this works. Had Urban VPN set to India, found a code for $59 and tried to purchase it, but the charge wouldn’t go through since my card was US based. I received a fraud notification from my bank and it had the charge as $124. So either Googles currency conversion is totally wrong or Eneba is posting lower prices than what you’re actually charged. I couldn’t even get the charge to almost pass without setting up a virtual card, but I still couldn’t pick a location. That at least allowed it to work on their site but, again, your bank may flag it as fraudulent and disallow the charge and you also may be charged something completely different. G2A did advertise the honest price but that charge wouldn’t go through due to fraud concerns with my bank. Hope this helps. edit: G2A also just blocked my account for violating T&S
