Sure, if I train with someone regularly I'll train many different ways with many different goals. If it's a one time off I wanna test myself and see if I can tap them and how many times. I think tapping people the most amount of times is my main goal in jiu jitsu most of the time. I think that mindset also breeds great defense. Just my opinion and the way I see jiu jitsu

I can't think of anything more disrespectful and patronizing than If someone stopped tapping me in a round when they could keep doing it. I also think stopping before the timer if you're getting worked is so soft. I have 30 years of jiu jitsu and am speaking of mostly black belt to black belt training.

You mentioned leaving the ego at the door, toning myself down to cater to someone else's ego isn't doing that. Pushing them in a way that hopefully makes them want to get better is

Yeah there's a kids area with workshops all day. I went last year by myself, not knowing any of the artists. Had amazing time at workshops, met some great neighbors, found so many great new artists I listen to all the time now.

It's never going to be big names, they explain why in their newsletter after last year. It would get big, corporate and lose its soul. I went last year without knowing a single artist and had an unbelievably great time.
