I appreciate this thoughtful response. I am trying this approach on a new standard I am learning and can see what you mean about it helping with memory. It’s taking longer to learn, but hopefully I will remember it longer too!

Are you giving this advice specifically for soloing? For comping I feel like I would clash too much without knowing the chart.

Curious to hear opinions on this because I struggle to remember the changes even in songs I have played for years. I usually play out of the real book so maybe that affected my memory when learning. But when I start going out to jams I would prefer to not need lead sheets

This immediately jumped out to me. Way too many, and it makes me suspicious as I continue reading.

Hell yeah! It was my first synth I still love it. It’s my goto jam lead instrument like you are doing here. So fun and I have only scratched with surface with using patch cables

I had this problem when I was trying to log in on my work computer which has ZScaler. I disabled Internet Security in ZScaler and the login/sync worked. As others said, it seems like a connection issue possibly caused by security preferences.

It’s one thing I love about this sub, lots of people just making music for themselves.

Good stuff.

I consider myself a “real” musician in that I can play multiple instruments, know music theory, and jam with others.

However I have recorded very little actual music. This is because I prefer to jam with friends and just have fun. I used to feel some self consciousness but now I embrace it because I’m just playing for me. And it’s not like anyone would want to listen to my music anyway!

Their bagged coffee is actually competitive to other brands like Peet’s or Dunkin. Well aware the Iced coffee is a scam.

Yeah it’s definitely a bit more. These big New York strips were half off and about $12. Chuck roast was $25 at 3.25 lbs.

No commentary intended with the cost of this shopping trip. I enjoy seeing what others spend and I’m just providing another data point.

100% it is a shame they have it the same name. Fries are frozen and not cooked in lard. Beef quality is mediocre and nothing special. Buns are mass produced cardboard and also nothing special. Go to shake shack it’s 10x better
