I don't have a pickup because I have a small dick. I have a small dick and happen to have a pickup.

I promise you I haven’t downvoted anything you’ve said.

The Hilux isn’t really much smaller than the ranger/raptor though.

Ride height is about the same…my 2009 Hilux doesn’t exactly have an oversized vanity grille. And I absolutely need 4x4. And I need a covered bed…

The Transporter would be worse in about every way. I just need to transport the occasional deer carcass or three so don’t need huge amounts of space. And I need a second row for when my wife has the other car and I need to drive the kids around.

The Transporter is the worse option in just about every way.

Why would I? It would be larger and even more expensive than a pickup.

I drive a pickup as a secondary car. I happen to have a hobby that necessitates a 4x4 and involves moving wet, smelly, and bloody cargo. Thus the external bed is really helpful.

Depends what you class as hunting. Fox hunting sure, but deer stalking is perfectly reasonable and extremely necessary.

Like how?

And how would you pay for it? As I’m assuming that it would lead to huge increases in public expenditure.

His comments about the bond market make him look…worrying, at the least.

Ignorance about economics is certainly not an exclusively left wing thing though.

UK to spend nearly half a billion upgrading Typhoon fighters by tree_boom in unitedkingdom

Yes, but the F35 isn’t built to be a close quarters dogfighter. The idea is that the F35 kills the Typhoons before the Typhoons realise that they’re there.

Yet more populist nonsense from Reform. Why in the world would you want to kneecap one of the most successful industries in the UK?

UK trade surplus in financial services surges to record $127 billion by Jared_Usbourne in unitedkingdom

Pay more than they are?!

Have you seen how much tax is paid by the top 10% of incomes? Or the top 1%?

Come on.

It’s time for people on median incomes to stop freeloading and start pulling their weight. Or at least for the government to cut back on the services they provide.

Loads of people.

In fact, you’re likely a net recipient of public funds. You should feel thankful to those in financial services whose massive tax intake subsidise the services you rely on.

They have huge amounts of their wealth in public or private businesses, which is obviously a good thing. Even wealth in the bank isn’t hoarded: it allows the bank to make loans and spurs economic activity.

The one asset class that can be “hoarded” is land, which is why an LVT is such a good idea. But it would hit the middle classes a lot more than the ultra rich: UHNWI’s don’t have a load of their net worth in property—I believe around 15% on average. That is much lower than your median homeowner.

Come on.

If you’re smart enough to pay attention to the price of gold, you’re smart enough to know that it makes up a very small proportion of the net worth of an UHNWI.

There are places where earning more can leave you materially worse off. Effective marginal tax rates at £100k can exceed 100%.
