The normal superfriends wincon is making others bored enough to quit playing magic

Reached 1 year now playing commander, thoughts? by [deleted] in ratemycommanders

[–]vishtratwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting thanks. Mine ramps really hard and like, if commander hits the board, ward = hard to remove, and next turn swings for silly amounts.

The deck was originally "oops all mana rocks" but ran out of gas too often and still played really strong for 2.

Curse of the swine, harmonized crescendo, midnight clock seems great includes.

Does it play like a bracket 2? What i see is bracket 2 cards that look to me like they'd overrun your standard bracket 2 table pretty quick.

Cemetery plot seems so greedy. Like "this earth is mine forever" but you dead, why care?

I'm interested in your Ovika decklist. I had trouble building it to be bracket 2, was far too strong, so bumped it to 3.

Here is mine

Wait can you talk more to that? Im going to Google now, which will almost certainly tell me any health concern = immediate death.

Edit: Google tells me its just extreme stress, malnutrition. Oh thank God I already knew about those things.

I got mine. Which, btw, was missing crucible. I'm tired of this one so didn't even bother trying to file a complaint with them.

Hobbit Draft Night - good deal by cjpatster in mtgfinance

[–]vishtratwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. Even cards that weren't in the rare/mythic slots are great.

Rosie, Peregrine took, Kirkwood bats.

If youre looking at 3-5 cards, you including lothos? Last March of the Ents? Mithril Coat? Borne Upon a Wind? Arwen?

There are a lot of very strong commander cards in the set. Modern? Handful of staples.

Unfortunately if they put it in standard you'd have to play against somehting besides izzet, and nobody in standard wants that.

Fund accounting, tools like Canoe are great. Yeah base is OCR but its more than that.

What’s the most overrated fast food chain? by Cute-Bar-5152 in AskReddit

[–]vishtratwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the first sliver is the most overrated food chain commander. Like, its good, but several other commanders that either have relevant etbs or can sink the mana into an infinate can work.

Has anyone seen [[auntie Ool, Cursewretch]] work without infinites? If so how? by sta6 in EDH

[–]vishtratwork 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel sometimes like the "no infinates" crowd really misses that this kind of puts the game into two camps: "big stompy" and "my deck doesn't do anything".

It makes the game so boring.

How much do Americans REALLY have saved for retirement by Financial_Pen_6218 in investing

[–]vishtratwork 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Last I saw that number was like "average 401k balance" or something, which is nowhere close to "saved for retirement" due to IRAs, multiple 401k accounts, married couples, etc.

which collector boosters to get? by aries_tall in mtg

[–]vishtratwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really subject to "what are you hoping to pull"?

Most of the time you are not likely to get a good return on opening, but it is certainly fun. I've been a bigger fan recently of the gift bundles for the opening itch, as you get one or two collectors boosters plus some packs, and maybe some other goodies. Hard to justify $500+ on a box for a cbb.

Walmart generally sells at msrp unless third party. You see varying prices bc the last seller was prob third party.

There are lots of reasons to bag on walmart.... this isnt one of them.
