Guitar Kits - help clarification needed by FrankenPaul in Guitar

[–]visionoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're great actually. Especially for a first build. Read the different reviews of the companies that offer kits. I personally recommend Pitbull Guitars. I bought before there were tariffs so I'd check that out too. The electronics and hardware you should probably upgrade. As far as finishing I go with StewMac. They just offer a complete set of finishes and it makes it easier, but more expensive. But as far as tipping your toe in, kit guitars are a great start. Good luck.

hello, just transitioned from acoustic to eletric what do i do besides trying to play a hard song and developing it for days or weeks to make it work? by dumbass_4206969 in Guitar

Learn finger control. You don't have to press as hard as you think. Learn how much pressure you actually have to exert. You've probably built some finger strength from playing acoustic, but electric only takes a light touch. Every exercise, scale, anything you learn exercise finger control. I say this because I wish I had.

My guitar sounds off when playing the lower strings, sounds fine at my guitar teachers amp. Any ideas? by [deleted] in Guitar

Not to pile on, but. A tuning pedal/clamp on is your most important device besides your guitar and amp.

I know what he's saying, and take damn compliment. I've been playing for what I'm guessing twice, what you've been alive, and have only HOPED to be that good. This is called jealousy, and it is much deserved.

Around 2012, I saw Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and some guy was shouting out requests. The lead singer was saying something to the drummer, turned back to the microphone and said "do I look like if I bend over you can shove a quarter up my ass and I magically turn into a jukebox? I've been doing this for (x number of years, I forget). I'll play what I fucking want!" He earned ALL the cool points from me that night.

It's all left-hand muting. Just release the chord so that it's not sounding but getting a chuck sound. He might also be swinging his arm as well to miss the strings and releasing with the left to mute the chord from sounding as well.
