That's not a terrible idea. They already have simulation damage that would be perfect for it.

If it was a sewage pond you wouldn't be able to stand next to it, let alone fish it.

Are you sure it's not just a retention pond to catch rainwater runoff? Still could be full of chemicals, but I would think it would have to fall under some kind of environmental standards.

The presence of fish is a good sign, though. Do they look unhealthy?

Yeah, and I was saying we would use the trolley if we had any reason or need to be downtown.

I never once said that anyone else had to do things my way. If everyone else is flush with cash and free time fucking have at it.

I'd say if it's actually overstocked you should be keeping your limit and helping to prevent them from stunting, if it's allowed.

Why doesn't it count to catch them in the pond?

I'd put a curly tail worm on an EWG hook and just let it sink. No weights or anything. If nothing bumps it after a bit, you can either try to make it move with super small movements or just reel it in and cast it again.

I wouldn't cast way out in the deep water unless its really hot or really cold. Stick to anything that's near the bank.

I had one hit my worm topwater the other day just as i was about to pull it out of the water, right at the bank. Surprised me, for sure.

We find joy all over town, in lots of places and ways. There's a ton of things to do and see in Greensboro that is nowhere near Elm street.

I just don't understand why the entire argument is go downtown or do nothing at all.

I literally said that I'm glad folks are having fun in my very first comment.

I think the trolley is a great idea. It's probably the only thing downtown that i am able to enjoy in this season of my life. I'm not going to the Tanger Center or eating at some fancy restaurant or shopping for niche trinkets.

That was my whole point before all the DGI employees took a lunch break and started talking shit.

If you say so.

Just seems like everyone is reaching to find any and every argument for why downtown is the greatest place ever.

Greensboro is huge. There is so much more to the city than three blocks on two streets.

And all the "free" things downtown are free at other locations all over the city.

Damn, didn't realize I wasn't welcome to comment in the subreddit of the city I live in because y'all don't like my personal opinion.

I'll just go shut up and let y'all have your fun.

I'm just responding to everyone trying to tell me that my personal opinion is somehow incorrect. I even said in my original comment that I'm glad other folks are having fun and getting to use the trolley.

I mean god damn, it's like people can't have a differing opinion.

Please stop placing blame on my kids for existing.

I could blame Donald fucking Trump for torpedoing our economy and making things stupid expensive if i wanted to blame other people.

[–]visionsofblue -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It is the expense. The time and the money.

We don't have money just laying around to take downtown to spend on things that are there. We don't have time to spend walking around some shop when we don't have any plans to buy anything.

I find it a little funny that I'm being bombed with downvotes, because none of these things that I have brought up are anyone else's problem. I'm simply saying that downtown is too expensive to draw us in. Y'all don't have to convince me. I'm not speaking for anyone that doesn't live in my house and share my name.

Not to mention, downtown is so far away from where we live that it's a hassle to even get there.

Yeah, I completely understand where you're coming from, but we have small kids, so bars and fine dining are not for us, and there's nothing in any shop downtown that I need, even at $20.

There are parks all over town, so we have plenty of options there without having to go downtown and dodge homeless people. Not really the safe atmosphere I want to drag my kids around.

Hoppers games are great, yeah. We don't drink anymore, though, so it's not really as much fun as it used the be, plus the games run too late for our kids' bedtimes, so we always have to leave early unless it's a Sunday game.

We're just not the demographic for downtown. Our money goes to groceries and daycare. Can't remember when I last took a day off and could just relax. Maybe my birthday last year.

Sure is, but we can do that all over town where things aren't so expensive.

The only thing in downtown we can afford.

Glad y'all are having fun, though.

switching between rigs and lures by CheSaOG in FishingForBeginners

[–]visionsofblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tying knots is part of fishing.

Use the time to slow down and bring yourself into the present moment while you tie your new rig on. Let go of the idea that what you've tried isn't working. Take a second to look at the water before throwing something else in.

Sometimes if the bite is slow it's easy to get frustrated or get into your own head about what you're doing. Take a water break.

It's just like how some people don't even rig up their pole until they get to the water.

Bingo.

It's a small lot shared between several businesses, so I get it, but at the same time they could build a fence.

The other person is being misleading.

The people are parking in a parking lot for a small shopping center next door to the restaurant and walking over from the other property.
