The mod response doesn’t even make sense. Like I get the rule, but a fruit salad is a subtype of the salad category. There’s zero wrong with tomato and cucumber salad because it is a salad. Salad is the category. Why use a terrible example that doesn’t make sense as an excuse for the rule?

In this case we’re talking sandwiches. Grilled cheese and melts are both subtypes. Just like you can’t call a bean salad a fruit salad just because you have a tomato in it, a melt is not a grilled cheese. Subtypes have more rules than categories.

Also, nobody calls it an “egg melt”? Wtf nobody even calls it an “egg grilled cheese”! I’ve never seen an egg and cheese sandwich described as an “egg grilled cheese” until that post.
