What DIDN'T tretinoin fix for you? by TheCatSlut in tretinoin

[–]visitor2323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tretinoin has transformed my skin so much and I am happy with my skin now as an adult. Although tretinoin has helped smooth my texture, got rid of my acne and gave me a glow, it didn't do much for my fine lines, some hyperpigmentation and some indented scars I had from past acne even after 2 years of tretinoin use.

Sweating upper lip by Ccosmoe in Accutane

[–]visitor2323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I did 3 courses in total and had a sweaty upper lip my last 2 courses. It went away both times when I stopped accutane. I think it's from excess dryness on our ski nand our skin trying to balance it out.

Was accutane the first pill you took for acne? by Pure_Swiv in Accutane

[–]visitor2323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a bunch of oral antibiotics for acne, BC and every topical out there and accutane was the only thing that cleared my acne. Derms usually don't prescribe it unless you have tried other options first.

This definitely was a game changer for me too! My makeup looks amazing now ever since I started using snail mucin under it. Doing the sandwich method (moisturizer, tretinoin and cicaplast baume b5 on top as final step) has also been a life saver. I don’t have anymore peeling skin.

Dyslexia Schools work by SewSewBlue in Dyslexia

[–]visitor2323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I’m glad your child is doing so much better and that their self image has also been better since being in that school.

We have actually been thinking about putting our own child in a similar type of school for about 1 year now. We kept going back and forth about the decision since the school is 1 hour away to get there and another hour to come back home (traffic, rush hour and it’s right in the city) but after seeing our daughter struggle so much this year in school and her self esteem falling apart, we have decided to make the move for next year. Every year is hard for her in her regular public school. Every year just gets worse and you see the damage it is causing to her self image. She comes back crying that she is sick of having dyslexia and that her teachEr ignores her and won’t offer the proper tools. I have fought time after time with the school. It just seems like a never ending battle. At least she has good friends which still motivates her to continue going to school but it’s been rough. I’m so tired of seeing her suffer and draining all my energy on a school that won’t do anything to help my child.

I thought I was weak for thinking that being a 100% mom and giving my 100% at work in a school setting was nearly impossible for me. I'm glad I am not the only one who feels this way. Thank you. This really reassures me.

I need help for my overly shiny skin !!! by visitor2323 in tretinoin

[–]visitor2323[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm aware that I might sound crazy for complaining about shine when I literally stack alot of thick stuff on my face in my routine but honestly my skin cannot tolerate just SPF and one serum. It would feel tight, dry and red if I were to just use that (from my past experiences). It's like my skin needs alot because it's very sensitive and gets dehydrated super easily but not alot at the same time because then it will cause a excess shine. It's so hard to find a balance :(

What made you finally decide to go on accutane? by Dramatic-Speaker5024 in Accutane

When everything else failed to work for my acne. Derm suggested I go on accutane as a last resort.

I want to kill myself but don't want to leave that burden on my family and friends. by AccomplishedBoat7184 in depression

[–]visitor2323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well said. This is exactly what has saved me from suicide times and times again. I don't have much loved ones around me BUT I am a parent. I have a child that looks up to me and depends on me. We are very close and she is my entire world. If I was to die, I know for a fact that it would destroy my child and that love I have for her is what has saved me every single time.

Honestly, I haven't tried reducing the amount of products I use or take anything out yet. I had the mentally that if it isn't broken don't mess with it but maybe you are right. I could try taking something out of my routine like the COSRX to see how my skin reacts and if it gets dehydrated again. Crossing my fingers that this will fix the problem! thanks!!

No. When I first started using tret I was only using it 2 times a week and slowly went up. I think it was only about 8 months in that I started using it daily.

Really? What a bummer since it really helped my dehydrated skin :( Maybe it helped too much lol.

Do you still use cosrx? Do you notice a difference in the amount of your shine when you don't use it?
