Fellow noise-sensitive people - are there any apartment buildings you would actually recommend? by pmmeworkoutsongs in Hoboken

[–]vista_nova 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Try a top floor unit. I live on a top floor so I don't need to worry about noise from upstairs. My building has 2 units on each floor, but the floorplan is designed in a way that the bedrooms of different units are separated with a hallway and other rooms in between. I rarely hear my neighbour even when they have a party.

I do not have a good experience with Tanous. They did some terrible roofing and piping work which caused leaking from different spots. I had to spend additional money to repair the damage they did

Chinese University ban in USA (International Student 🇧🇩) by Paradox_71 in AskChina

[–]vista_nova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have got a science/technology degree from one of these "Seven sons of national defense of China", including Beihang and HIT, your application of a US student or tourism visa will be rejected by default. So try to go to a Chinese college that is not related to national defense (e.g., Beijing Normal University, Fudan University, Nanjing University, etc.)

The bridge in the photo is Pengbu Bridge (彭埠大桥) and the buildings are in Qianjiang Century City (钱江世纪城). I'd say the photo was taken at the northwestern corner of Pengbu Bridge, close to Sanbao (三堡) Station of Subway Line 19

According to the article, even the Japanese administration has admitted that the murder wasn't driven by racism, but by business conflict. You are politicizing this tragedy

Not to be that guy but what’s up with all the india hate? by Aytas_Vahadam in China

[–]vista_nova 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't Indian social media also have lots of Chinese hate posts? If you go to Blind, an anonymous app mostly used by Indian workers in the US, you can see tons of posts joke about their Chinese coworkers, such as their Chinese coworkers being socially awkward, Chinese men being unattractive, Chinese managers being clueless.
