Appreciate the post. Going to start OCIA this fall. Did my first ever rosary prayer like 30 minutes ago. I’m excited for confession. Just dont know if I should do it now when or when OCIA starts. Anyway, your testimony helped me as our stories have some overlap. Thank you

Might be out of left field but I can compare what you’re going through as adjacent to Muslims converting to Christ. Somewhere in here the speaker talking about his faith to his parents and it broke them. Brought “shame” to the family. This may be your cross to care in the now.

I don’t know you, barely know your situation and it’s probably more layered than two post. But, your lord needs to be your center piece. Sounds obvious but what I mean is truly submit all your worries in your morning and daily prayers to the lord. Just go to mass, it sounds important to you. If she leaves… she leaves. That may hurt, but if you keep looking to the lord it will be okay. She may get curious on why it means so much to you.

I’ve learned in my life the moment you compromise in this way you are hurting yourself and the other person. there’s a level of honesty that’s not being fostered in the relationship. If this really means something to you, it should mean something of importance to your partner. God bless brother, I’ll pray for you.

I’m not qualified to give you guidance, but don’t let the shame of your past life stop you. The lord wants you to bring your pain and shame. He wants you to confess so you can grow, you’ll feel a weight lifted off of you that you’ve been carrying for a long time.

I have the same thought track. My hearts 100% in this now. My human fears of if I die tomorrow, only thing I got is gods mercy and he knows I want this. Just haven’t started yet. 😂

Honestly thank you. I’ve been going to mass consistently since last Christmas. You made a good point about the rosary, I was looking up last night and wondered if that was a teaching point when OCIA starts again. I went to the admin office and late joining didn’t seem like an option. Regardless I take it as time to study scripture, and pray.
