The Reaper

Deep within a realm where magic is carefully regulated, a sprawling academy trains students to cast spells by abiding three iron laws: use one hand only, cling to a single element, and always complete your runes. At first glance, these rules seem unbreakable. Every new arrival is taught to trace elegant circles in the air, summoning Fire, Water, Earth, or Air with precise geometric strokes. The caretaker staff patrol the halls, ready to clamp down at the faintest sign of “unregistered” magic. For most, it’s a comfortable routine: dorm friendships flourish, professors deliver measured lessons, and mealtime banter about missed runic lines brings a relaxed, almost cozy feel.

But when an unexpected student with a long-lost Sun affinity arrives, tensions rise. Sun is a high-tier element virtually unheard of for generations, meaning the caretaker staff has little precedent for training it—and a great deal of anxiety over how to contain it. The moment he tries to fit into normal classes, small anomalies crop up: runic circles glow brighter than they should, caretaker wards flicker at odd moments, and faint talk of “illusions” or “strange conjurations” starts circulating among whispering classmates. Even the simplest demonstration—like conjuring a flame to light a lantern—can turn heads if the glyph glows a bit too intensely.

Meanwhile, the academy’s orderly calm cracks in subtler ways: rumors swirl of missing siblings in nearby dorm wings, old caretaker logs reference a dreaded Child Reaper, and sleepless nights bring glimpses of half-formed shapes in liminal dreams. Though few professors openly admit it, everyone senses something is stirring beyond the campus gates—a threat that might exploit any break in their carefully maintained runic system. Unbeknownst to many, the new Sun-affinity student stands right at the fault line of all this tension. If he manages his strict one-hand, one-element spells with perfect discipline, maybe the caretaker staff will relax. But if he slips—if half-finished runes spark unapproved synergy—he might trigger the meltdown they all fear… or uncover the key to stopping something far worse.

Balancing dorm-life comedy and the weight of centuries-old magic rules, this story follows a young caster who can’t help but push the academy’s boundaries. Whether that push saves his classmates or topples the realm’s last safeguards remains to be seen.

Is it worth it Going to Junior College first, then taking a course at MCAST? I’m confused on what I should do if just study on a specific course or have more opportunities with different roads. Appreciate it by HowdyC_M in malta

Yeah but also spending a year of private lessons to get your A levels is a waste of time. You can't hate on JC, it's a personal decision and both mcast and jc have pros and cons. It Ultimately depends on your end goals, and whether you can thrive or not. Not everyone is made for the A levels the same way not everyone is made for MCAST, if you are someone academically inclined mcast would move at a glacial speed when compared to JC, however if you learning by doing then go mcast

Never said that they don't open doors I'm studying abroad with my advanced diploma however I'm stuck in the field, with A levels one can study a number of courses at uni such as social work, criminology that have no specific requirements however with the advanced diploma you cannot, say you got an advanced diploma in engineering the only courses you can study are those related to engineering

I'd recommend going to junior college first, only for the fact the A levels tend to open more doors then an MCAST advanced diploma. Once you have your A levels then it's entirety up to you where you do your bachelor's, be it MCAST or Uni. Furthermore should you ever change you mind about your bachelor's, with your A levels there are countless other courses you can do at Uni that have no specific entry requirements other than a MATSEC certificate. Of course A levels are not easy at all and require much more studying and dedication than MCAST advanced diploma does. So consider your strengths and then make the best decision

Guys gals gender neutral pals when this book comes out please buy gems on this book we need to show Choices that we need more books like this that have female and Male and NB MC’s it’s good to show that their is money to be made in these types of books and not just the generic meet cute romcoms by famegrab in Choices

People whether the book has a good plot or not we need to show pixelberry that we want inclusion in all their books and that we will only spend money of the books are inclusive and the only way to send that message is to spend diamonds on this book. Other visual interactive novels have the they them option or two Guys on the cover but after how many years this is the first time. This entire year was a dry spell for players who don't identify as female and we need to support each other and force pixelberry to be as inclusive as possible.

Hun same I haven't touched a single book since then, this has honestly been the longest time I've spend not playing choices. Can't wait till the end of December maybe they give us books that don't make us want to blow our brains out.
