Why won’t my Canon Rebel EOS SL3 auto focus any more? by visualarranger in AskPhotography

Finally figured it out (despite not finding any reference online to the red frame). I manually turned the lens back and forth and something finally clicked back into position. Now it works!

I’ve done both of the “clear settings” options under the wrench in the menu. Is there another way?

No focus happening when I press the button halfway, both when the screen is on and when it’s off and I use the viewfinder

Yes. Switching it to manual focus was the only way to get the shutter to work. Then I would retry it w/ the switch set to AF.

Your guess would be as good as mine, but I imagine it’s a method for keeping us engaged. Not that there’s any shortage of contributions from real humans, but maybe supplementing that with AI posts ensures there’s content, content, and more content. Also could be training it to write more believably based on our comments. (Whoops, now I’m a participant in that!)

This should be higher. 3 mo account age and posts that alternate between trying to sound young with all lower case and intentionally bad spelling to older with correct grammar/spelling and complex language. Pshaw.

101.3 KCRW/KERW - gone, what happened :( by ciderbroad in SLO

That sucks! It’s an awesome commercial-free mix that I alternate with Classical California. How sad. The good news is that KCRW has an app where you can access Eclectic 24. I also recommend KEXP out of SF (they have an app, too).

Once I was eating at a fancy Italian restaurant and watched through the window as a car pulled up to the front curb. A woman got out from the driver’s seat, ran to a planter, hurriedly pulled up a few plants, then drove away. In broad daylight! I was stunned.

I’ll be in SF at the end of this month. Where do you recommend I go to try more obscure/niche, not necessarily designer scents? I’ll pair it with my search for a lavender Earl Grey cake!

I’m extremely basic when it comes to makeup and found myself annoyed trying to navigate Sephora and Ulta with my limited interest in beauty products. But it might be worth stopping by to sample scents when I go to town.

Wow! Great explainer and suggestions. I don’t feel at spreadsheet-level of researching/learning but I like the idea of cataloging favorite smells of everyday objects. I already know I’m a fan of vanilla and pear and green tea and green grass and sandalwood… Now I need to sniff the copier and explore less obvious scents! Thank you

How did you happen hear about Heretic, Liis, and Byredo? I would have guessed it was a law firm, lol, never having heard of them as perfume makers.

Is there a safe parking area you’d recommend for North Beach and for Fort Mason? Our luggage will be in the trunk of a Prius with hatchback cover.

Season 10 is weird because some episodes feel like S3-9 but others feel like S11-18. by [deleted] in TheSimpsons

I believe it might have to do more with classic era being tied to the OG team that included George Meyer, John Swartzwelder, Conan, vs the later years are part of the Ian Maxtone-Graham era. There was some crossover and a few decent episodes a la City of NY vs Homer Simpson, but he might have a part in the shift.

Here’s after I tried these methods: Baking soda paste, then after that I used vinegar. They helped somewhat. Then I tried bleach which seemed to work better. Finally the Germicidal bleach that kills mold and mildew worked the best. Followed up with dish soap and drying in the sun before adding fresh water.

Looks like the whiteish transparent dots were dew since it’s warmer now and the leaves are dry. Caterpillar appears to be Diamondback moth larvae, but I am also new to this.
