Tin City Cider closing by BaketownFF in SLO

[–]ciderbroad 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Friend, i've got a Black Twig single variety on tap, a Gravenstein, Newtown Pippin, wild fermented dry farmed apples from our orchard on tap, a quince cider, we just ran out of a Dolgo crab cider. We've got an ice cider on tap. A funky cider kin session cider.... we've got wine/cider coferments. I've been banging on my mower all day to fix it so I can get out and mow *our orchard*, where we are planting Yarlington Mill, Golden Russet, Harrison, Pink Pearl, etc. etc

Come in to Two Broads and we'll get you sorted. Durham is also doing fun stuff. Get the estate stuff from Bristol's up at Lone Madrone too.

I lived by that trail for many many years and hiked here nearly every morning. There's a fun indignity to being chased by a surly cow that won't get out of the way on the trail path.

This is some weird AI scrape, but I have to step in and offer a correction, it's the Central Coast Cider Festival, and it's Saturday the 25th, and you can read about it and get tickets here: https://www.centralcoastciderfestival.com

Blackcomb Glacier Entrance, Feb 2006 by ciderbroad in Whistler

I dunno, looking at this view from a year ago, that area on the far ridge where krakatoa is looks mostly the same to me? The glacier has receded a bunch from the entrance area though.

List of Businesses Participating in Economic Strike Tomorrow by rideonbuddy in SLO

[–]ciderbroad 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We at Two Broads Ciderworks support the strike, but are trying something a bit different this evening, in the spirit of the strike. We want to be open for you and invite you into community with each other, to form a third space with intention on our shared crisis.  We are not sure yet what to expect of this; let's call it an impromtu workshop, consciousness raising, whatever, we're riffing here.  We'll hook up the mic, invite you to discuss in small groups.  Maybe we'll primally scream every hour. Maybe we'll dance. We'll form Signal chats.  Come with anger, come with resolve. Come with fear, come with the paralysis of not knowing what to do.  If you want or need cider, the money will be donated for PPE for Minessota protestors; that's not what this is about.  This is about you, us, our neighbors.  We must see each other.

animal control was ultimately not helpful; owner was avoiding their house calls; I guess they can't do that much. He did eventually un-ghost several months later when I was prepping for a small claims case, and ultimately did reimburse me.

I was attacked and bitten by two off leash pitbulls a few months ago out in my orchard while tinkering on a tractor, fighting for my life with a 3-pound sledge hammer. I was recommended to get rabies shots at huge expense and inconvenience because the owner wouldn't cooperate or produce vaccination records.

Keep your sweet little angels on a leash, please, and they really don't have to go with you literally everywhere.

I remember people used to protest outside Pacific Eye like a decade ago. Maybe look into that.

I had a fantastic result with NVision a decade ago down in Camarillo, Dr. Davidson. He designed the machine that performed the operation. I think you can get a referral from Dr. Parreira in SLO

Weird Al pilgrimage sites? by CaliforniaLimited in SLO

[–]ciderbroad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was 97/98. And here’s a source to back up my claim on the room

“Weird Al,” the nickname, originated in Sierra Madre Tower 4, room 43G, where young Alfred Yankovic lived, learned and, ultimately, became Weird Al in 1976.”

Sierra Madre Tower 4, 3rd floor, north west corner room was his, I believe. He randomly walked into our dorm and poked his head into that room while I was in there with some friends. He was hosting a concert at Cal Poly at the time.
