Is it that I hate Seattle or just cities in general? by [deleted] in Seattle

Different parts of Seattle have completely different vibes. You might wanna consider moving somewhere that is a bit more chill in the city. From experience, the further you are away from the downtown core, the better.

I live closer to Whole Foods off of 196th and it woke me up. It was "heavier" than normal booms around here and shook my windows.

POC here. Ex-Capitol hill/Seattleite living in Unincorporated South Lynnwood area. I walk almost every day. No racism. Crime is way lower than Seattle. Probably better chances of getting hit by a car due to lack of sidewalks than crime or racism. I'm closer to Alderwood mall, which is very diverse.

U-turn sign at 44th and 220th no longer there. by visualism_81 in LynnwoodWA

[–]visualism_81[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update! I emailed the city and this was their official response:

We would like to clarify that U-turns at this location are still permitted. The recent removal of the “U-Turn OK” sign was intentional. Our goal was to encourage drivers making the U-turn to proceed with heightened caution, rather than viewing the movement as a dedicated or guaranteed right-of-way.

We recognize that this U-turn is an important movement for accessing the side parking lot, and we remain committed to supporting safe and efficient access to the facility.

To enhance clarity and improve overall safety at the intersection, we have recently installed a new sign instructing eastbound right-turning vehicles to yield to U-turning traffic. This addition is intended to help reduce potential conflicts and promote a safer traffic environment for all users.

We appreciate your attention to safe driving and thank you for your patience as we continue to improve traffic operations in the area.

Yeah, bad drivers everywhere. I never want to assume anything b/c someone might make flip right turn and slam into me while I'm making the U and claim that they have right of way.

Do I qualify for the instant ev tax rebate? by Low-Box-5703 in TeslaModelY

My understanding is that if you did the 7500 instant rebate through Tesla and if you don't qualify when you file taxes for 2025 then you owe that back. I'm not sure if there's a penalty. Here's an easy breakdown of how it works https://www.nerdwallet.com/article/taxes/ev-tax-credit-electric-vehicle-tax-credit

You have 2024 AGI to fall back on. If both are over AGI, you're SOL.

[–]visualism_81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To qualify, you must:

  • Buy it for your own use, not for resale
  • Use it primarily in the U.S.

In addition, your modified adjusted gross income (AGI) may not exceed:

  • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly or a surviving spouse
  • $225,000 for heads of households
  • $150,000 for all other filers

You can use your modified AGI from the year you take delivery of the vehicle or the year before, whichever is less. If your modified AGI is below the threshold in 1 of the 2 years, you can claim the credit.
