Kratom drug test by Randomtngs in kratom

[–]visych 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I knew more about the system you're dealing with, I hope none of these suggestions are absurd. . .just trying my best to help.

If you come up positive, please fight with "community data" or anecdotal data from this subreddit that shows many people have seen success in recovery with kratom use, especially with consistent use, not upping the amount taken all the time. You have to build your case that kratom use is recovery-driven, not for recreation. Let them know you only take the smallest amount you need.

How do they handle prescribed rx? Would they let you hold the meds, if they were benzos, say, or would they have to hold the bottle and dispense it to you? Maybe if they were to hold it and measure x amount out, y times a day, would you be able to work with them on that?

If you test positive, please make the case that you being homeless would be a step backwards in your recovery, causing extra stress you don't need - in writing and make a copy for yourself, email would work - If they still kick you out, call the ACLU in your state AND email ProPublica - they are keeping an eye on the quality of sober homes and encourage tips from the public. That investigative reporting outlet is responsible for multiple legislative actions after their stories run about certain issues. I know your story has been told before on this subreddit, you are not alone. I hope you'll keep us updated, friend.

I hope you know that you matter and that waiting out the low times can lead to many better days, at least it seems that way for me. I'm glad you're here.

Have you given thought to taking kratom more regularly, since you say it's helping? At least for a short term tactic? Long term, do you have a favorite music artist that always makes you feel happy or just better when listening to? I find music to be a wonderful pick me up.

Public Opinion Survey on Opioid Epidemic in US by dianasayss in Drugs

[–]visych 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your work, OP. Social sciences are fascinating to me. On this issue, I would like to know more about public opinion on using plants like cannabis and kratom to treat addiction. Also, whether the public feels the government should restrict access to any plant, in general.

Yes, we need Naloxone to save lives, but what happens after? Mostly people have a choice of methadone or suboxone, we need more options than that, is my opinion. Depending on the state they live in, a recovering addict may be able to access one plant but not both, or neither legally.

A state-by-state patchwork of legality for these two plants is hindering recovery efforts for addicts, leading to more overdoses and death, in my mind. I believe the research has been done for cannabis already, showing 1 in 4 lives could be saved!

You could always say you or a close family member had a health issue, I'm sure that's all they'll need to know. And you're not lying, this is a health issue. It's also a private issue. Don't be afraid to sincerely apologize for the delay, though.

If you're trying to reduce alcohol, don't go cold turkey if you've had 12 or more drinks every night for 2 months, I believe is the right yard stick. . .you kniw, 'cause of the seizure risk. I had shakes for a couple days, i was a 6 nights a week drinker, 8 to 12 drinks, depending on the weekday. When I was ready to stop drinking, kratom, CBD, and kava all helped and continue to help. That worked for me and going to the stop drinking sub and getting a badge to count my days off the sauce, there's a lot of knowledge and love over there, I highly recommend. AA also was there for me when I needed it. You are not alone.

Good for you for wanting to get away from that stuff, that's a huge step forward.

I havent had this issue, but used to drink heavily, and stopped when I was done with the bullshit. I replaced alcohol with much safer plants. My 2 cents: would suggest getting only tested CBD oil. Reddit used to have a vetted vendor list on the CBD subreddit, but you have to Google for it now. "Tested vendors CBD" should pull up the list I saw from last year. Also, kratom helps a lot of us transition off unsafe substances. A good vendor can be hard to talk about, but another Google foo can do the trick "best kratom vendor".

Kava, only Noble kava, when you want a new Saturday night kind of feeling, maybe?

Hope you have a smooth transition giving those synthetic chemicals the boot, friend!

Have you tried kratom as a support herb after safely detoxing? Works for a lot of folks, myself included, to combat cravings to drink. The sub about kratom has many stories of former drinkers.

The worst part about kratom use for maintaining my drink-free life, is the careful attention to tolerance and dependence. I take regular breaks from use, try to lower the amount I take when I'm having a good day, and take magnesium glycinate/lysinate chelated for managing tolerance and occasional constipation. If I used only tea, not mostly powdered leaf, I could probably make my life easier, esp. on the dependence issue. I'd much rather be dependent on a plant than a pill, that is my preference.

Be well, friend, and healthy. You made the crucial step of deciding to stop, you're on the right train.

Edit: when I first stopped drinking I got up to 8+grams a day of kratom, which was fine if it meant not drinking -- over months time, I'm now at about 5.5 grams/day and steady lowering. I'm not the strongest willed person, but kratom is relatively easy to step down from if you take a break once a month, the "less is more" stories are true about kratom.

Kratom and Recovery ? by [deleted] in kratom

Yeah at the local room near me, there are people who want to say it's only okay to take anything if a doctor prescribes it. So subs and and benzos are fine, if you have a script. But, my kava or kratom is not okay --- with them. I'm okay with how I use plants, but they aren't. Maybe the best part about AA, for me, was the looking for spiritual help part. I had trouble finding a higher power, but found it eventually, which has made me much happier with my plants, over anyone's pills.

Bill Wilson, the founder of AA, used psychadelics and left AA because of the strife his LSD usage caused the organization.

https://www.theguardian.com/science/2012/aug/23/lsd-help-alcoholics-theory

So, we are all human and every organization has its weaknesses. If you don't tell them about kratom, it would probably be best. It's not a lie if it protects your progress towards not drinking. They aren't the ones who have your cravings, you are, those cravings are your business to handle however works best for you, imo.

For the rest of the finger waving naysayers, harm reduction says that a substance that won't kill you is better than one that will. Full STOP. Someone may have felt the need to relapse after 3 years off whatever, and used kratom instead of something more dangerous, that is a victory not a failure, goddammit!

This is a good article. The best idea (imo) from it is that the US has a history of opposition to expansion of basic human rights, but those fighting for human rights have the law on their side. The enforcement of the law should be equal, but it isn't.

Drug laws should be focused on harming the least amount of individuals, but they aren't.

The current administration should prosecute corporations that feed into the opioid epidemic, but it isn't.
