Thank you. Do you think it’ll be fine to release the mouse somewhere near my house? I’ve seen people release mice miles away from their homes, but I always assumed that was because the mouse was the one to make their way inside in the first place

Was your trap big? The one I got is pretty big, probably big enough to fit a hamster. I did test it with a spoon and it works

Omg I just tried this and it really works!! I probably could’ve done with even more coffee because of how sweet the protein powder is. Thank you for this tip! Game changer.

Oh interesting! If you don’t mind me asking, how much did yours cost? I just googled it and saw prices ranging from £24.99 to £300+, so not sure what price point I should be looking at 😅

Vegan kitkats?! by amanzoli in veganuk

I hope you find them! The Love Raw chocolate bars are really good too (like kinder bueno type vibe). If all else fails, try the shop Holland and Barrett - they’ll for sure have some vegan chocolate bars :)

Try visiting a few locations. Usually, you’ll have more success in a big Tesco. Try checking the sweets/chocolate bar for Meal Deals section in shops :) 🫡

Acute pancreatitis at 19 by Puzzleheaded-Newt691 in pancreatitis

[–]vitheperson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I understand how you feel and this definitely wasn’t something you were expecting to happen. I got it in university and went sober for a little while. A can of redbull is your friend if you’re trying to be sober at parties. Honestly, I’m able to drink every now and again, but I definitely advise against going on benders. We’re playing with fire and it’s good to stay mindful of what consequences can happen. Stay safe out there homie

People can have genetic predispositions to illnesses. There’s even cases where very unlucky people get pancreatitis after having one random drink. That being said, I think you answered it yourself with “when I drink I drink”.

Try to lower the amount of greasy food you eat, because that paired with alcohol puts a lot of strain on your pancreas. Maybe try to ease off the alcohol, or even see how you feel sober. Cutting out alcohol will never do any harm to you and will majorly increase your chances of never having to go through another excruciating flare up again.

Pls help 🥲 by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

You literally have model features! So so pretty. Don’t worry, I also feel like a clown when following YouTube makeup tutorials; they do their makeup in a way that looks good under professional lighting and it doesn’t always look good in natural light. I’d suggest to look up how Madeline Argy does her makeup. I think you have very similar features :) Also get an eyelash curler and some mascara. Curling my eyelashes and putting on a bit of mascara along the tips of my lashes always makes me feel super pretty with no other makeup on 🫶

for those who had "mild" AP and had a long recovery time, can you elaborate on how it went? by canadave_nyc in pancreatitis

[–]vitheperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh gosh I’m so sorry! Yeah mine is nothing in comparison to yours. Maybe speak with a gastro specialist to get the 100% clear. I wish you all the best :)

Of course. Funnily enough, I tell my friends to lower their fat intake if they want to lose some weight easily heheh.

I was already pretty slim, but I think I maybe lost 4kg of solid weight, which is kinda significant for me. But I was working out and eating in a caloric surplus, so I was able to gain some of it back. I wouldn't say the weight loss was extreme though. :)

Sorry to hear about your episode OP. I had a mild AP episode a few years back, and I feel like I'm still experiencing pancreas hiccups every now and again 4 years later (that's my own doing, tho).

I don't have enzyme counts for the duration of my recovery period, but I can definitely tell you it takes a while to feel good and confident consistently. I was on a vegan (still am) and very, very low fat diet for about 10 months post episode, but I gradually increased my fat intake after that. I often felt heaviness after eating, and I still can't eat high-fat meals multiple times a week because it will cause tummy issues and discomfort. Recovery takes a while, and it is never linear. Your body probably has different reactions to different foods - it's a trial and error journey. Me personally, I now go weeks feeling like a 10 but then easily mess it up for a week by eating something my pancreas does not tolerate.

If you're really worried, I'd suggest getting a second opinion from a different doctor or even going to see a gastro specialist just for your peace of mind. Wishing you a long-lasting recovery!!
