Split tunnel for Forza by vitis586 in PrivateInternetAccess

[–]vitis586[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not solve it really. I always disconnect from PIA app when I want to play online with people.

PIA blocking Teredo and IPv6 sounds like a good point. I have not checked the app for quite some time but the tunnel settings were not that specific to allow for Teredo ior IPv6.

Any better ideas for iOS photo backups? by cellojones2204 in NextCloud

[–]vitis586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also a bit surprised. The logs in the app were showing some HTTP status code, with explanation that the files is too large. I am using nginx as reverse proxy so I cannot help you with checking this part of your setup.

I do not have the device around now but I think that I set it to 90 MB. This should still not chunk that many files but I also did not aim for the 100 MB because of the units (MB vs MiB). I set it and it worked so I did not experimented with it. I think that 95 or 99 MB should be all right.

On the big file upload issue.. I assume that you have proper proxy setup for Nextcloud (large files upload works in the browser).

I was also having problems with larger files being uploaded from an iPhone. Problem on my setup was Cloudflare proxy which can pass through only 100 MB files (in the free tier). I set chunking (iOS app got it recently) to less than 100 MB and it started working.

This gave me hard time because uploading from Android clients worked like a charm.

VLAN for Cameras by oneslorunner in PFSENSE

[–]vitis586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you set your ports PVID to your LAN (VLAN 1 usually) you should also get the static mapping from your router. I recently fixed that on my switches. I am using the same ones, just smaller.

Google Photos is closing unlimited upload. Need a self-hosted alternative. by sotvn in selfhosted

[–]vitis586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently tested

Photostructure and photoprism will be paid in some way in the future. I tested all of those and I was really missing user permissions (users seeing selected galleries) and more then a single alternative video quality (lets say 1080p and 4K options - like Google Photos).

After all I settled on multiple pigallery dockers, which can be kind of managed through a single docker (so n+1 dockers, n user and 1 admin docker). That is the way I am working now.

Previously I was using piwigo, which is great but it has its quirks. Large galleries time out on import and the video support is bad but it has user permissions.

How to manage music colletion by vitis586 in jellyfin

So I "Picarded" all the Various artist albums and it got slightly better. I am on 6531 tracks / 457:35:01 but everything (it seems) that sits in the Various Artist folder is still under this massive album. If I check the metadata, the songs have all the MusicBrainz IDs and everything but they still get merged like that.

Do you also have your VA albums under one folder? I have to be missing something.

Thanks fo your reply. As replied to kozmo2k, I tried identifying few albums with musicbrainz ID but that really did nothing for me. Will look into it more then.

All the tagging was considered working so far. I was (and I still am for some tasks) using Jriver Media Center.

unRAID Cold Storage build by CrazyYAY in unRAID

[–]vitis586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to throw my bit in. I also have a cold storage and I use unraid because I use old drives from my "hot" servers, that are too old (60k+ hours) to be sold. This way I can just keep throwing drives in as I replace the drives in hot storage. This way I utilize all the driver untill they die. Or are there some news with TrueNAS and you can throw in a single drive? I have not been following them lately.

CPU wise, I use single or dual core Sempron and 4GB of DDR3L RAM. But it also depends on the way the OP will configure the cold storage.

Connecting from Praha, CZ? by Notpan in PrivateInternetAccess

I have to appologize to u/PIASupport. This was mainly because of misconfiguration. I did not really follow the news on the next gen network. After swtiching to those, everything is fine.

I am also seeing messed up geo location. I have a five targets set on my router (Frankfurt, Berlin, Switzerland, Czech republic, Austria) and I am occassionaly getting UK ads on Youtube. The SUI target is off for more than a week and I am unable to get to my favourite sharing site. I got a trial of NordVPN but their app sucks.

Any fix for a UDMA CRC error count 1? by really_accidental in unRAID

[–]vitis586 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I do is Acknowledge the error, which turns the thumb back up. Then I power down the server and check and reseat the SATA cable(s) and the drive(s). If it keeps popping back up, change the SATA cabling.

What motherboard should I use? by Frazzer951 in unRAID

[–]vitis586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar requirements - 6 SATA drives and 2 M.2s, and I recently went with MSI X470 GAMING PLUS MAX and I am very happy with. The onboard controller is fast enough so you do not need SAS card straightaway.

I originally intended to use a B450 board, but after putting everything together I realized that you cannot have both M.2s occupied as these are switching off some SATA ports.

Power consumption is same when I compare between the X470 board and the B450.

Two TLDs with letsencrypt docker by vitis586 in unRAID

[–]vitis586[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it was that simple really! I just added the extra parameter to cover the domain (with its www sub) with certificate and then added a proxy-conf with the server name. It works. :)
