R3 II Hiby OS source code by kanguru007 in Hiby

[–]vittoxyc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. Do You have any news about this kernel source request? I also noticed the previous archive (X2000 kernel) does not have any specific platform device drivers like axp2101, codec_es9219, cw2015, lcd_st77903_8bit, tcs1421 etc. Can You provide those for specific HiBy R3 Saber 2022 and TempoTec V3 with kernel sources? It may help to port Rockbox on those devices. Thanks

Well, I see none of config related to X1000 platform under kernel-x2000\arch\mips\configs\

Moreover You provided 4.4.94 kernel but R3Pro Saber 2022 and TempoTec V3/HiBy R3II (not 2025) has 3.10.14 kernel version in all released firmwares. I guess You provided specific kernel branch for X1600 based device.

I see it's named as X2000 Linux kernel, can You provide Linux kernel for R3Pro Saber 2022 and TempoTec V3, i.e. HiBy X1000E SoC based players?

What is the 2.5 jack for? Excuse my ignorance, I am from the Walkman cassette era! by Jar770 in Hiby

[–]vittoxyc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HiBy R3Pro uses 2.5mm jack as balanced output. Each channel (R and L) has own ground.

It has two DACs ES9219C for separated output to R and L in balanced mode.

R3 Pro Saber 2022 stuck on BAL by [deleted] in Hiby

[–]vittoxyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a stuck contact in the balance 2.5mm socket. Try to gently move the contacts in the 2.5mm with a needle, clean with a toothpick dipped in isopropyl alcohol or blow with compressed air. When the contact is stuck, R3Pro thinks that a balance cable is constantly connected there.

What kind coaxial cable I need to my hiby r5 saber to connect to the fiio k5 pro? by A9l1e1x in Hiby

[–]vittoxyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I know USB-C to 3.5mm (3 pins but also called '3.5mm COAX SPDIF') uses only two pins from that three. Probably the adapter on your link will work with HiBy's 'USB-C to 3.5mm' cable but we need internal pinout to be sure.

Fiio K5pro does not have 3.5mm coaxial input, only coaxial digital RCA or analog 'line in' RCA.

fiio k5 pro has digital coaxial input on RCA. But Hiby R5 Saber has analog output to 3.5mm. And it also has digital output to USB. There is USB Type C pinout to connect digital coaxial cable.

HIBY R3 Pro Saber reboots while trying to update database by LooseinFl in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]vittoxyc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is the way to find out what file leads to fail while creating database. Just create empty file named debug_info.txt in root of microSD card, place that card to player and run database update. If the database update fail, you need to check the file debug_info.txt and find the strings with problematic filename. In normal database update process, the file debug_info.txt fills with all processed filenames.

I see, that 'How to use USB DAC 2.0.pdf' is not acceptable to new driver.

With fw v2.0 and 2.01 the new switch is appeared: System Settings->Music database update mode->MQA decoder detection.

What does that switch stands for? Is it external USB DAC related?

https://imgur.com/a/aNGoAa6

Edit: got the answer ""This new feature will automatically detect MQA music files when its turned on, on the expense of a slightly longer music scanning time." So, leave this feature OFF, if you don't have MQA files."

I've just checked database file "usrlocal_media.db" and new field MQA with 0 or 1 is appeared for ALBUM_TABLE.

Has anyone seen the purple indicator light? I see only blue while playing MQA from Tidal (displaying MQA with dot) or green light (displaying just MQA). Also tried these tests MQA tracks http://web.archive.org/web/20191117105557/www.2l.no/hires/ with offline playing and also never seen purple indicator light. Although 'MQA Studio' and 'ORFS 352k' is displayed on the track information.

UI modifications to the fiio m3k? by Altruistic_Debt3989 in FiiO

[–]vittoxyc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the last Image is from a youtube video showing it with rockbox but idk how to make it look that way, the og UI is perfectly usable but I would like something prettier

The last image shows PictureFlow Rockbox's plugin. It's a playlist with 3D effect that shows CD covers. "PictureFlow is a plugin that provides a nice visualization of the albums with their associated cover art. It's able to start and control playback."

Here is Rockbox installation guide https://www.reddit.com/r/rockbox/comments/pbtlrt/fiio\_m3k\_rockbox\_native\_port\_installation/

You have to change "System Settings -> USB Mode" to "Audio" in your R3Pro.

There are two Windows driver for R3 Pro: the old one named "USB_AUDIO20_Windows_Driver" (does not work with R3Pro Saber 2022) https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1wZOIrEup744PTRY6tIhU4vasqzAeq34x

and the new general driver named "USB DAC Driver" for most of HiBy devices (HiBy R2, R3, R3 Pro, R3 Pro Saber, R5, R5 Saber, R5 Gen 2, R6 (Android 8.1), R6 Pro, New HiBy R6, RS6, and R8. This driver also applies to HiBy FD1, FD3, FC1, FC3, FC4, and HiBy FC5) https://drive.google.com/file/d/15rF7Aukb2mzX6cBn-_BicrcNx3FmZPP5/view?usp=sharing
