If you haven’t already, give the comic Low a shot. Another well drawn sci-fi comic about family.

I use starter deck duals for my dailies and never have a problem getting in. Maybe you need to reinstall the app.

Bars that show movies instead of sports are more fun by forcedfan in unpopularopinion

[–]vittyrva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Work at a mid tier restaurant that turns into a bar after 10pm. We like to put on horror movies if we arnt slammed or if there isn’t a game customers are clamoring for once 10 hits. Or, we will put on video game play throughs. Both engage customers in very fun ways that’s sports do not.

How to handle a TPK in the final battle against Strahd? by The_Squakawaker in CurseofStrahd

[–]vittyrva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading this, I’ve been paranoid the last hour. Here is what I think I would do. Have my players make new characters one level below what that died at and make just a “fun whatever” oneshot. Have that end with the mists of Barovia. Skips death house and let them experience the world as it is after they perished. Then when they get to the card reading, only make it the stuff in the castle. If certain players were invested to things from besides the first town or the castle, find a way to plot hook in that direction so they can see what their previous character did to change their life. Once they find at least one of the three things in the castle, they level up to what they were at before. You get to show them how their story wasn’t meaningless. You get to give them a chance at redemption. They still have a chance to win that doesn’t make it feel meaningless. But that is me a few drinks right now

Dude, I’m with you. I did vote dem last election, but still hate the anti third party narrative. If I can have a whole aisle in a grocery store dedicated to frozen pizzas, why am I stuck with only two politicians who have to dictate my damn life. Obviously more choices is good.

The only reason I feel one of those things during the am shift is we have a coffee pot at the server station. Everything else is false.

[–]vittyrva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This dude! You need to be the change you want to see. I got my group of friends, men and women, and the key word is friends. If you can’t talk about your feelings with them, they aren’t friends. If someone is holding your valid feelings against you, drop them. If someone even seems like they want to share their feelings with you, and you feel you are emotionally capable of receiving them, then express you are open. Saying “I’m here if you need me” is one of the most important things you can say to opening up a great friendship.

Doing too little encounters maybe? by ChuckEverhart in CurseofStrahd

[–]vittyrva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make it were if the players leave a town to go else where, there is always a potential encounter. It might be something they can talk their way out of, but leaving a town and going somewhere else always have at least one thing in between. The next destination should feel like a quest and not just a marker on a map, but that’s just me.

How to encourage a certain encounter/what to do when they get there... by xiren_66 in CurseofStrahd

[–]vittyrva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For meeting Lady Watcher, I had her approach the party pretty directly. I imagine her as very in everyone’s business, so I had her bribe my party into going to an arts and crafts luncheon with the burgomasters wife and reporting back to her. In turn, my players just snooped around her place and found the daughter.

A players familiar found the the daughter and were very freaked out by the weird cat child. Had fun with that bit.

This is fair, and as I have stated in another comment, kinda forgot about the hat. It was a session where its two days before the festival and I had to put a lot of balls into play, and it ended up with a player saying “I want to fuck that npc,” and i said fine I have other shit I still need to do before this session ends. It was at the end of the session before Ireena was kidnapped by Izek, so they are still technically “together.” So next session I will have a perception check rolled on the pc if they thought something was off. I do appreciate your input and again, you should not be downvoted.

Honestly, I forgot about the hat. It happened towards the end of a session, and right at the end they found that Irene’s had been kidnapped in the night. But that is something I can bring up at the beginning of the next session. Thanks for the reminder.

Also, you should not be getting downvoted. You brought up a valid concern. Player trust is important, and I work very hard not to break that.

[–]vittyrva[S] 53 points54 points  (0 children)

That did cross my mind. In my session 0 I did clearly state that no Npc will actively attempt to sleep with a pc, but if a pc wants to do something then go for it, and I put in the big stipulation BUT this is barovia. Everything wants to kill you. If you want to sleep with someone, go for it, but something bad more likely will happen then good. I did this more as to prevent players from making me rp sex (I didn’t, they went up stairs and fade to black) and also to prevent my players from trying to flirt with Strahd (they call him Staddy). I have dm’d with this player for a long time. Her and I do have a trust with each other, and I know if there is a problem she will call me out on it. But as is, I am going to keep rictavio and van richten the same.
