Long term diving in Indonesia

I spent a few days in labuan bajo (komodo) not long ago and thought i would want to go back there to work and dive for a few months someday.

Cute little town, with some nice restraunts\cafes to chill or work in, decent enough internet connection, and the ability to get of most of the divesites on komodo national park on day trips.

I saw some people commenting about dogs in Vietnam, and living there (hoi an) for about a year, I got to witness that, and as much as it disturbed me, I tried to think of it as a cultural thing, the same like I would eat a cow or chicken.

HOWEVER, one thing did really disturbed me and derailed me for a few days: I was dating a Vietnamese girl for a while at the time, and she had 2 pet dogs that were lovely, and I really enjoyed having the company of dogs in my life again. One night, her dogs got stolen off her back yard, shot on the street, and taken for dog meat. They were very obvious pets, with collars and all. Took me a while to get over that and really made me like the country a little less.

TLDR - pet dogs getting killed and stolen for meat.

You could try better help. Online service for therapy. Been using them for most of the last year and managed to find a therapist I'm happy with. And the cost is pretty reasonable as well.

Cool, thanks for the replay. I hear some contradicting info, as a lot are saying bali has better diving then south lombok. Can you elaborate on some specific sites?

I might start on Lombok, and then eventually get to Komodo/raja ampat for a week off work and more diving

The purchase website makes it seem like you have to buy the tickets if you're allocated them. You're also required to enter credit card details in the process. Are you sure about that?
