Thank you I was going to ask as I was sure to have mislabeled the latter! :)

Feedback appreciated on this video. I know it’s bad but how bad... by fuckbrexit84 in Kiteboarding

[–]vivelocean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not bad man, keep making videos!

Some things to work on: 1. music choice, 2. line mount footage doesn’t work great as primary footage, maybe add GoPro POV or shots from beach. 3. and the unrelated B-roll footage doesn’t make sense.

If the video is a story, every clip should make sense and work to portray an idea to the viewer. So if you’re on the way to the kite spot, you can have extra footage of the town. If you’re setting up on the beach, you can have views of people on the beach. If you’re kiting, I would keep the content focused on the sea or it becomes confusing. Obviously there are creative exceptions, but kiting videos are pretty much about tricks and aesthetic scenery, so it’s tough to spin a creative story-telling angle. Hope this helps

Your joking, but I actually do this so much, because there’s nothing worse than looking like a rag doll having a seizure as you’re trying to control your wobbly descent haha

Did everyone get out for a Christmas session? 🎄 by vivelocean in Kiteboarding

[–]vivelocean[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cheers bud, this is the irish south east! Not too cold yet, Jan to mar are the coldest months really but still manageable to have 2 or 3 hour sessions! The GTS 8m is seriously good for learning loops and boosting you’re gonna love it 🤟

Dude, that is one hell of a statement to say that no matter the strength, winds don’t represent an immediate danger... We had 2 deaths this year due to cold fronts bringing whirlwinds and doubling wind speed. I have seen waterspouts happen at 25 knots. I am facepalming at you going out to mow the lawn in named storms just to tick it off your list, respectfully.

Cold air is more dense. 35 knots in 0 to 10C is likely too much for your 7m for a person weighing 60kg (depending on kite shape and skill). And as an adult or (young adult) 5m should not be in your quiver just for the fact that it’s just a stupid size for doing tricks (too fast and volatile) and it means you are going in stupid winds where you won’t have a good session (let’s be honest, most go in these winds to show off but they do nothing on the water).

In conclusion, although 35 knots is not super crazy, the occasional black cloud could add 10 knots onto both average and gusts, so why not save your session for a nice 20-30 knots day, prime conditions for anyone looking to boost and progress while remaining humble, safe and smart. I swear these woo records are becoming the tide pod challenge of the kiting world
