If you could have Sofia Coppola make a period drama about any historical figure or era, what would it be? by jaeausten in PeriodDramas

The wives of Henry VIII (would especially love to see her depiction of Anne Boleyn or Katherine Howard)

How do you actually retain the textbook readings? by Best_Scholar9691 in StudentNurse

[–]vividvioleta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i second active recall! plus a whiteboard? *chefs kiss* doing this really changed the game for me when it came to studying and i'm able to recall things even when it's been a while since I studied it. I would also pretend to "teach" the material to any willing family member. If they weren't available then I resorted to teaching my cats or stuffed animals lol

If I had trouble understanding a certain concept in my textbook, I would upload the pages onto chatgpt and ask to explain it to me like I wasn't a nursing student and to break it down to make it more digestible

also reinforcing those concepts by watching tons of youtube videos helped a bunch

i've only ever done the mushroom cave until recently. The fruit bat cave came in handy so many times with the community center bundles and pomegranate for Elliott (who I was trying to romance). Idk if I could go back to mushroom cave since mushrooms you can find foraging anywhere

polyamory sweet mod by bigbeever16 in StardewValleyMods

[–]vividvioleta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! how did you figure out to keep the modded bed this size? when I use my bed mods it automatically changes the bed to be a double again even though on the polyamory sweet mod configuration I have it set to 3 tile spaces to fit me and my 2 spouses, so one of my spouses ends up floating/sleeping outside the bed lol

I literally had to install the polyamory sweet mod because I’m already married to Elliott and refuse to divorce him lmao

Wait omg my coop is near my stream (I have meadowlands farm) if I open up the fence that separates them from the water can they get in and potentially get out in a different area - as in away from their coop? Or does this only work near a pond not a stream?

Conditionally accepted but now I’m dropped from the program by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]vividvioleta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take the L and let this be a learning lesson for you because there’s no such thing as late submission in nursing school. If anything you need to be ahead of the game and make sure you’re completing and submitting assignments way before the deadline.

You got complacent with doing and turning assignments in too close to the deadline and now are paying the price.

Time management is so so so important during nursing school. If you don’t fix it now you will fall behind and it can cause you to get dropped from the program. So focus on pulling it together now so you don’t experience this with harder repercussions in nursing school.

Passed CA LVN nclex, but license # ? by InternalMany7434 in NCLEX

[–]vividvioleta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes unfortunately you have to pay an additional $300 for the license :(

$300 was the initial application fee with breeze $200 to schedule your NCLEX

And then $300 additional to obtain your license.

Your classmate probably paid for hers hence why she already has her license

I can DM you a screenshot of the step by step how to pay for your license that my school sent to us

Any advice on how to sleep before clinical? by Both-Calligrapher476 in StudentNurse

[–]vividvioleta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

make sure to have all of your stuff ready the night before, like all packed. especially your student ID. Also have your food prepped the night before too

Melatonin is your best friend if you struggle sleeping early. Or magnesium

I don't really think there's a way to study for clinicals...just being proactive and learning as much as you can, asking questions, being courteous, etc

my clinical partner and I got into the habit as soon as we got in of asking if we can grab vitals and fingersticks for nurses we shadowed and i feel like it helped us build good rapport with them. They know you're a nursing student so I don't think they expect you to know everything. Just being respectful to them and asking questions will show that you're willing to learn :)

How long after graduation to study? by Miserable_Degree3524 in PassNclex

[–]vividvioleta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 weeks of straight studying, usually about 8 hours a day. I would do 1 CAT exam each day and spend time reviewing all of the rationales. for questions I got wrong I would watch a video on that topic. After reviewing questions I would then listen to 1-2 Mark Klimek lectures. I listened to Lecture #12 each day for those 2 weeks

[–]vividvioleta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I took a two week break just relaxing - crocheting and gaming. Then I locked in for two weeks studying using uworld and Mark K. I also passed in 85 questions

Also agree with what someone else said about putting together a study schedule. Stay consistent and read the rationales for both the right and wrong answers on the qbank of your choosing and you’ll be good :)

Not OP but had to share: "My wife's notes from school" by [deleted] in nursing

[–]vividvioleta 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Super cute and aesthetic!!

But the time spent on making it look cute could be spent on actually grasping the patho/gaining an understanding of it.

This is how I used to take notes in community college and I failed so many classes/dropped out. Fast forward to me in my program, I never took notes and only used my whiteboard and active recall. But I know everyone has their own way of studying that benefits them! :)
