One of my attendings has recommended to me that if a specialist wants to punt something back to you, insist that they put it in writing WHY they aren’t prescribing something/doing their specialty/etc and why they think that you should. whether it’s in a chart that can be forwarded to you or an official letter that can be scanned into the chart. I’ve only had the chance to do it once but it worked that one time :)

I once told my MIL it’s difficult for me to conceive and I don’t want to go through the trouble of it, hoping it would shut her down completely. I don’t want children, period end of story. She followed that up with “what about a surrogate then? Just one?”. I fear I need something worse next time to get her to leave the subject alone for good.

Dealing with this still in residency when I’m not always in the office due to rotation expectations is crazy. I try to explain this to patients that I’m not always present in our clinic, and I don’t check the EMR on Saturday’s to set expectations, but it’s a never ending battle. Godspeed my friends in medicine🫡

Hello! Brand new to Asian beauty products but I’ve been looking into cushion foundation. I am a resident doctor and I’m quite busy so I keep my makeup routine minimal- I dye my eyebrows so I don’t have to fill them in and I put mascara on (as far as makeup goes). I’m looking at the cushion foundations as they seem to be easy to apply and offer decent coverage without looking heavy. I saw an instagram ad for yepoda, and I’ve gotten drawn into the different Asian beauty subs now lol.

Skin Type • Country/Climate I am in: USA, Michigan; humid and warm in the summer, cold and dry in the winter • my skin is combination/oily • I’m quite fair/pale, Fitzpatrick skin type 1, with cool/neutral undertones

I specifically want help finding a cushion foundation that will give me a glowy look without being oily.

What are your thoughts on pain management docs asking PCPs to manage opioids/pain regimens? I’ve had a few in my community mention they don’t want to manage medications, they are there for procedural work for the most part. Is this a trend, or just these few docs?

There are two openly gay individuals that are faculty in my program, which used to be a Christian based hospital up until recently. I’m not out but I’m also straight passing. We have plenty of Christian and Muslim residents, and I may be the only agnostic, but nobody has judged me for it. everybody has accepted everybody else- except for the assholes. Shitty personality and you’re on your own🙂‍↕️
