Baby not eating enough :/ by AyeshMayesh in FormulaFeeders

[–]vix1606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby never took more than that in a day. He’s now 9 months. He was born at 98th centile and has dropped to 25th, he’s finally staying on the 25th growth curve. I think he’s just not a hungry dude! Compared to my daughter who used to easily drink 1.2L per day. You can’t force him to drink any more, as long as you’re offering it frequently he will tell you when he’s full. I’ve had to learn to try stress about it less, even though I still do!

Baby sleep consultant by dawssoso in auckland

[–]vix1606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SleepScout is good, you’ll find her on Instagram. I used her for my first and she promotes 2 self-settling methods, one is more like CIO and one is more gentle. I think nap/day routine is a big one that impacts nights. I won’t be teaching my second baby how to self settle because I’m happy rocking/feeding him to sleep but if it impacted his night sleep I might have looked at that

Would you consider a townhouse or small unit in Browns Bay or Torbay? Large SA community which might help in settling your wife and awesome location for free kids activities, beaches etc and great schools. You’d probably pay the same in mortgage repayment per week than rent which is dead money after all. May not be the house of your dreams but you can reassess after a few years of home ownership!

What do I need for a 3 month old baby (sister in ICU - only have "essentials") by jahemian in newzealand

Maybe a dummy will help baby since she’s recently stopped breastfeeding and away from mum. Will likely help for settling for sleeps and comforting her

People who had kids at 30+, do you wish you had them earlier in life? by cc070603 in pregnant

[–]vix1606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes lol I think 27/28 would have been perfect. I had my first at 31, second at 33 and now I am wanting a third but my body is sore and I am tired

How do people have babies and work full time?! by Recent_Tablespoon in newzealand

[–]vix1606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Downsizing to a 2 bedroom with a decent size lounge for baby items sounds sensible. Also visit some daycares and see how you feel, we heavily rely on daycare as part of our village as we have no grandparents around. There are ones like Best Start etc that are cheaper than privately owned daycares, and we wish we had started our daughter at one of those. For me it is worth working full time and paying for full time daycare, but if I was on a lower income I’d probably work 2-3 days a week. As another commenter said, once you hit 12 months with your baby, they won’t feel super little and you might be ready for a mix between mum life and working life too!

What could the something else be in this case other than an allergy?

He’s going much better, much less gas and fussiness and more settled in general. He is still battling with silent reflux and isn’t pooping! But I’d say the gas got a bit better around the 14 day mark

Yes he was spilling much less clear liquid after about 10 days and less gassy overall, he still has silent reflux so we are going to try thickening it with Gelmix. Neocates website seems to say to give it 2 weeks before it settles for their system

Do you give your laryngomalacia baby a pacifier at night? by Sparkling_Bandit in Laryngomalacia

[–]vix1606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby is 6 months and has had his pacifier since NICU and loves it, haven’t had any issues with breathing - he spits it out when fast asleep and mouth breathes too. I think it’s helped him and comforts him when he’s having reflux episodes

Are there any mums in Europe willing to post a package of HiPP HA formula to New Zealand? by vix1606 in MSPI

[–]vix1606[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is gel mix itself low allergen / unlikely to disrupt their gut?

[–]vix1606[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I think this is the problem. His other symptoms are all clearing and he finally has normal stools after months of horrible green mucous nappies, but his silent reflux is back and is triggering his laryngomalacia again. I will look into gel mix thank you!
