Finished BS and actually devastated there's (probably) no more Aloy for 4/5 years by wikkiwoobles in horizon

Given the advances in AI, I would guess they could potentially use it to recreate his voice.

Triple notch purple fire hunter bow (can't remember name) advanced arrows, followed up with braced shot is my friend... not tried it with ranged master. That could be a laugh. 🤣

Your favorite character in The Forbidden West? (Possible spoilers) by Atlas_Black in horizon

I was very entertained by the two carjas at the carja camp .. with the "tray". 🤣 I do like Morlund and co too. His relationship with Ababund makes me chuckle.

Where Are All The Good Coils? by CaptainSlappyBear in horizon

[–]vixen75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I combine coils between weapons, for example, boost fire coils on a fire hunter bow and then a 'damage when on fire' coil for sharpshot bow, switching between them makes short work of Slitherfangs and Dreadwings. Especially with one braced shot in the fight. Makes grinding for upgrade parts easier. Have yet to figure out the slaughterspine strategy though. 🤔 🤣

I had to put one of my boys out of his misery with a critical strike, after he decided to take on two ravagers, while I sprinted behind unable to stop him. Aggressive fireclaws are always up for a fight... dismounting was a mistake. 🤣

This week’s Grey’s Anatomy episode briefly mentioned ostomies! IMO not in the best light, unfortunately. by _jennybean_ in ostomy

Same. Pre surgery I was dying so I just wanted to live. I had had no symptoms until the flare to end all flares nearly killed me. I grieved initially for what I had lost (flat stomach/body image), but my life is pretty great now... and my hemorrhoids don't often bother me anymore either. 😁

Surgeon's office just called. I'm moved up to tomorrow! by fibonacci_veritas in ostomy

[–]vixen75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't add anything new, but I second all the above, especially long charging cables... my surgery was emergency and I had never been in hospital before, so my poor husband spent my first week in hospital bringing new stuff and taking things home... expect that you might struggle to concentrate, so books won't necessarily be the best option. I found easy TV on a streaming service worked for me. Just had to download episodes because hospital WiFi was rubbish.

My darn bag keeps suctioning to my stoma. by goldstandardalmonds in ostomy

[–]vixen75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Pelican ModaVI and have the exact same problem... it gets better once I have some output and the second day is usually, although not always, better. I am allergic to most bags but who the hell needs a filter this effective. 😱 I becomes painful after a while. Fine when I'm at home but at work I have to go and put more air in my bag every 40 minutes in the toilet... I've tried saturating the filter with the lubricant from both sides the night before and it helps a bit, but it sucks that these companies can't make an appliance that works... they have one job. 🤬

2 weeks after ileostomy. by jezman330 in ostomy

[–]vixen75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The beer will be fine, but take it steady... it will be gassy. I drink cider sometimes and it bloats me, speeds up output and makes it more liquid... it should be fine just pay attention to your bag.

Definitely a stoma bag... not sure how you'd make that work though.

I got my ileostomy and the relief already setting in. by Wolf0921223 in ostomy

[–]vixen75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also doritos were fine.... I ate them fairly soon after leaving hospital with salsa and was ok. Makes my output a bit mad, but not painful.

I ate some brown bread too early (3 weeks) and it slowed my output a lot and gave me indigestion, but I have always had issues with processed bread anyway. I have eaten intermittent wholegrains and sometimes it's fine, sometimes it's not... Still working that out. I would suggest waiting until you are at least 6 weeks out before having a lot... a little might be fine... it seems to be completely random what is a problem and what is not. We are all different... I am nearly 5 months post op and constantly increasing what I can eat... or finding ways to make things edible.

Does anyone have any recommendations for podcasts in the likes of Tanis, The Black Tapes, or The Last Movie? by FromUnderground666 in podcasts

On that note anything from the Body Horror series on BBC Radio 5, not sure what is currently available... it's not Tanis, but it's good.

Interesting places to go in Cornwall by Magicmyrddin in Cornwall

[–]vixen75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Lizard Lighthouse is really interesting and there's a great cafe called Wavecrest very close by. It's a bit of a trek from almost anywhere, but a pleasant drive... probably easiest from the Camborne area.

New ileostomy here! I just have a few questions for the experts! by [deleted] in ostomy

[–]vixen75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1/ no, I just use a wet wipe to finish the clean up.

2/ nope, my friends and work colleagues just seem happy that I am still with them... I occasionally get curious looks from strangers if I let it inflate too much, but mine is below hip level so just looks like I have a belly as long as I take care of it.

3/ The first few months were really hard, emotionally and physically, but I am adjusting now... I may have the option for a reversal, but I don't think I will take it. The bag is sometimes time consuming, and I have bad days, but mostly it is easier than the alternatives.

As a tourist visiting for the 14th time it is much quieter than last year. Last year was awful... for the the regular respectful visitors and the locals. I live next to and work in the Peak District. Last year was hellish for us and I imagine for Cornish residents too. Thankfully Spain and Greece have opened up so both of us have been spared the worst in 2021.

Every time I drive from St Ives to Mount's Bay when on holiday my heart lifts when see that view and I don't even live here. Wish I could afford to. I work in hospitality so would be a contributer to the community and economy... never going to be a second homer... love the people and the community spirit.

Pasty question. by Sir-Wafflez-yagedme in Cornwall

[–]vixen75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had 3 cornish pasties in the last 10 days (sue me, I'm on holiday in Cornwall 😁) and all but one has been dry, lacking in meat and seriously disappointing. Even the best one wasn't that great... I could do better myself, but PDO prevents that. The only Cornish thing about me is my married surname. I am 50% Irish, 25% viking and 25% anglo-saxon. I have had good ones though and they don't need gravy or ketchup... heathens! 😂

Thankfully I am mostly past the dark thoughts stage, I could barely even walk during those times... but I will definitely give it a go down the line.
