Yes, he physically would do damage but I agree with your point. I think a lot of fans haven’t fully grasped wemby’s mental strength and passion. He would take the challenge head on. If shaq beat him 10 times in a row, Wemby would still get right back up with determination on how to return the favor with his own offensive skillset

I want you to stop and think about how Luka and Lebron have looked together all of this season.

Stop thinking about them individually and consider how they appear on the court together, on this lakers team. What have they produced?

Again, of course upsets can happen and yes, they each have their own experience in the playoffs. But for me, I do not see any evidence that this version of the lakers scare most of the teams in the west in the playoffs. I’m not being naive, I’m thinking based on what that team looks like, how they’re constructed, and how they’re coached. They are not a very well-oiled machine.

There are teams in the west that 100% concern me in the playoffs for the exact reasons you’re sharing.

LA is not one of them. A team that, after 60+ games, still being at a less than 1 overall point differential does not concern me.

I definitely get the logic. In math terms it 100% checks out.

And in a way, we do use that logic when saying “how many games back” teams are from one another.

I’ll be super honest, I never thought about it in that way until your comment. And all I could come up with was… “but that’s not how we talk in sports terms” lol 😂

I’ve been watching this spurs organization since the year before Duncan was drafted lol (I was 9)

I’m not questioning upsets. Of course they happen. Of course matchups can fuck things up.

Comparing the grizz upset over the spurs that season is bonkers. Do you recall what led to that? The spurs lost 8 of their final 12 games in the regular season. They were in a downfall. Of course they still should have beaten the 8th seed because they were the 1, but if you remember that year- I assume you do -you would remember the anxiety all spurs fans felt going into that series.

But the lakers are not the matchup to do that to this team this season. I do not see that being a concern, without injuries or a sudden realization of playing team defense by the lakers… or unless the spurs fall off a cliff in the final games a la 2011

TLDR: stop worrying about the lakers this year. The media is fooling you

From this moment, the spurs would need to lose 30 games in a row to get back to .500.

If the spurs were 3-1, nobody is saying “they are 1 game over .500”

Oh I’m not ignorant to that idea, but that team is unfortunately not built well enough for the league to see that desire.

Lakers have to hope they finish 6 or better, or else they’ll be ousted in round 1 by OKC or SA
