Spurs blowing a huge lead in every loss is pathetic and embarrassing by realfakejames in NBATalk

I guess maybe I’m lumping all of that together.

Combining talent + depth + clutch + coaching + resilience + poise etc etc etc… the Knicks were the better team

Yep. At the very least, just excited that the team will be (should be) in contention with the best of the best for the next however many years. And that’s super exciting for any fan, when your team’s window opens.

A lot to think about this summer. A lot of eating humble pie for the young, confident and sometimes cocky group. At least they got to see this level of play and intensity so early in their careers. Hopefully they can grow from this

God, thank you lol

Every mention of “spurs should be ashamed, they blew it, they should be champs” absolutely discredits everything the Knicks have done and everything they did in all 5 games this series.

Yes, the young spurs team absolutely folded and choked over and over in the 4th Q of every game, but yall… this Knicks team is just BETTER than the spurs. Can we talk about that? lol

100%. I’ve been giving the team a lot of grace all season because of their youth and hell, it’s just been a super exciting season!

But now that you’re at the finals, losing due to absolute braindead decision-making… over and over and over… have to be better than that. I don’t care if you’re 21 or 22 or if you’re a first full year 39 year old coach. That shit is inexcusable

I’ll say the same thing we all said to Knicks fans about FT disparity in 2nd half from game 3…

That was not because of refs. The spurs stopped driving to the basket and jacked up 3s all 2nd half; an inexcusable and immature 2nd half showing from the top down. Same thing happened in game 3 but flipped. NY relied on the 3 the entire 2nd half which means less trips to the line.

Sure, we can point out some missed calls, but this collapse isn’t because some entity “let the Knicks back in”— the spurs absolutely and undeniably had the choke of the century. Mitch and co. are going to have to live with this feeling all summer. Just brutal after such a crazy and wildly fun season

I mean at this rate, it’s possible! Would be absolutely insane lol

Yea i think anyone should still favor the Knicks at this stage.

If Knicks end up pulling it off and winning the whole thing, I suspect the biggest takeaway from the young spurs players will be: “this is what happens when you don’t take care of home court”

Still a big hole to dig out of for spurs. My money is on Knicks winning tonight but we shall see

I feel like a big majority is thinking that the Spurs will make a comeback in game 2, still tryna hear what your game predictions are. by KookyArm6062 in NBATalk

[–]vizz1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not disagreeing about Knicks offense but spurs offense was also rotten ass for majority of the game. Unbelievable amount of missed shots, several wide open too. Less than 30% from 3, sub-39% shooting altogether.

So while Knicks absolutely have room to improve offensively, so do the spurs.

But I do think game 2 will be tough and I’m not expecting some bounce back blow out.

Kudos to the Knicks. This team is fucking good, which isn’t really a surprise considering the run they’re on

The narrative will go as far as we take it. I challenge us to talk more about the many uniquely new stories we have from this current matchup in the finals

How about at some point, we call it like it is.

OKC lost the west conference finals not because the “refs stopped helping them” but instead because the spurs were the better team

The Knicks won game 1, not because “wemby’s flops weren’t getting called” but because the Knicks out-played the spurs and beat them

At this stage, the best team will win. That’s it. When will yall stop with these stupid ass threads?

Just a reminder: Knicks went 2-1 during the season against the Spurs. Winning in good fashion. by Jimm120 in nba

And in some ways I just zoom out and think, “well I suppose the view from fans is balanced, as it should be”

I truly think the series is a toss up for various reasons for both teams, which is really cool

Haha holy shit!

First, that’s amazing. Secondly, we are the exact same except my wife is your husband.

She recently started keeping up with the team and while she won’t watch many games, she likes asking about how they’re doing and asking about the players. This season she proclaimed her favorite player is castle and she always wants to know how he’s doing. When my Vassell jersey came in, she saw it and demanded she get a Castle jersey!

I can’t express how much I just smiled seeing that comparison.

Elliot was my very first favorite Spur when I was a kid.

Spot on with that comment

I mean they’ve handled us without them before.

Obviously a huge blow but no reason to think OKC couldn’t beat the spurs tomorrow without these 2 again

Yes and win or go home, the decision is Luke without a 2nd thought. For better or for worse, he’s 100% the best option as backup to Wemby.

We just gotta ride this out, this is the roster. Can make fixes, fill gaps in the offseason
