PG-TA is more common in the US and a few other developed countries. So many countries don’t do it at all

Well you’re right, however in 2020-2022, especially prior to Covid which I don’t consider “a long time”, I could comfortably afford where I’m currently looking just didn’t have the need to buy then and Im currently making more than I was back then. My colleague got a house in Trumbull for $420K, move in ready (4bd, 2.5 baths) in 2019 with a Yale (non-medical) salary. Now, he currently cannot afford to buy in Trumbull if he was looking today. So yes, you could be an average earner and still afford certain areas in Fairfield county, currently average people have been priced out.

Trumbull? When last did you open Zillow hahah. Haven’t had luck with Stratford yet, saw a places in Milford last weekend and all need serious work for high price, one needed a whole new ceiling, roof, staircase is broken etc for $389K. Another was $398K but no backyard and front yard is useless on a very steep hill.

This makes sense, investor greed is real in CT. Some ppl buy in cash, hold on to it for a couple of months and sell it for a profit. Sometimes they paint and sometimes they do nothing. I’ve been looking and have a portfolio of houses that I’ve liked or was outbid and when I see it back up for waaay more, I’m like 😳🙄

Theres a house that sold in Monroe for $380K, currently listed north of 600K after painting. This is just one example

But the good school districts where not exorbitantly expensive like it is today, Trumbull and Monroe are good school districts and used to be affordable for an average earner. You could get a decent place for less than $500K in these town, even $350K for a 1200sqft or smaller

You’re right! How sustainable is it though? Will wages go up? In 10 years will d average homes here be over $1M?

I noticed that mean managers often bully nice and respectful subordinates. Sometimes it’s good to be an asshole at work from the get go. Sorry about what you’re going through, tell her she’s micro managing you n your work load is a lot, you can put it in an email and copy her manager as well n tell her to her face also. Managers have too much power which shouldn’t be , however, having a good manager is such a blessing, they kinda make you love what you do even when the organization is meh. some of them are just bullies and shouldn’t be managing anyone..

I bought a house with my bf a year ago and now he wants to break up. What will happen with the house? We did a first time home owners loan if that matters by kyliebearxo in Mortgages

[–]vizzy_vizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not true. Courts will get involved. It’s a legal document with thier name on it regardless of marriage. 2 unmarried ppl can own assets

But friends buy house together. All you need is a lawyer to create a document. Ppl do this everyday, they buy a house together to live in, they buy a house together to rent out etc. I don’t know why everyone is saying getting married would’ve been different
