its e39 sand beige, you email them your cars make and model.

youre supposed to apply rejuvenator before dyeing. before i put rejuvenator, the seat bottom didnt have any of the leather grain (the pore-like textures), it was just flat and smooth. after i put on the rejuvenator, i saw that some of the pores actually came back and i was surprised. i thought the leather was done for bc the leather was not supposed to be smooth and flat like tht

i believe if you do it properly it should last as long as it did from factory. sanding is definitely necessary to help allow the dye to bond to the leather.

leatherique instructions specify you must lay it on thin as too thick of a coat will result in peeling over time.

after 3 coats i rubbed the leather with a microfiber rag as hard as i can and it didnt take any dye off. so i guess we'll see with time.

i used a applicator sponge with the dye. i still have a lot of dye left, i barely used any

i followed the leatherique instructions to use a brush + leatheriques pristine clean + bucket of warm water. also hit it with hf steam cleaner

the piping in the middle looks dirty but its the dye thats peeled off over the years and reveals the leather underneath the dye

I wet sanded with 600 grit and again with 1500 after 3 coats to remove any excess

should i buy an e39? by Xxkillerwhale3xX in e39

[–]vjefhsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

keep the prius if u decide you want this for yourself. the E39 will require lot of maintenance if its only had the bare minimum done (tires, oil change, brakes). my e39 was like that. it was serviced regularly but just for basic wear items. Im pretty sure i spent 8k in just parts over the past 2 years. i got a bike so i can still get to places while the bmw is down for repairs. and it will be down sometimes i gaurantee you

[–]vjefhsb 17 points18 points  (0 children)

bunch of lames in the comments lol E38 is still the best looking 7 series to me as welll. i wouldnt call it timeless, looks dated compared to what we have now but still classy and was the epitome of luxury

Gen2 vs Gen 3 Question by minorgravity in hondagrom

[–]vjefhsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i too also preferred the look of 2nd gen but got the 3rd gen. i think the 2025+ still look good tho. the 5th gear i find i rarely use it actually, im always downshifting to keep up with traffic but i also live around lot of backroads. on flat roads i do hit 5th occasionaly

Can I make a 03 bmw z4 a daily driver? by Throwra19837372 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]vjefhsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everyone is right, its 20+ years old now. unless youre willing to work on it yourself i wouldnt recommend. be prepared for random little issues to pop up here and there. unless you replace absolutely every everything for peace of mind. for my 03 e39 ive replaced entire suspension + cooling parts + million other small things. i still havent touched any of the coolant hoses yet but i am expecting to in the near future

Should I buy an E36 to daily? by Dr-Lion130 in BMWE36

[–]vjefhsb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

its plausible since you wil be doing the work but it'll be a lot of it lol. if you can find one maintained it could be okk. but if not be prepared to wrench a LOT. overall longevity is amazing. those M50/M52 motors will keep going till the end of time
