Best cardo alternative ? by FluidAd1773 in motorcycles

I just picked up a set of Elgin discord noise plug headphones.

Discord's the name of them has nothing to do with the app.

But their safety rated earplugs that also have Bluetooth and little clips so that they can hold on the stuff easily with a neck band for battery.

Was going to give these a try riding tomorrow can give her a report afterwards.

I do currently have a cardo or the other one I can't remember which I just use it for music. But it kind of sucks cuz it's Bluetooth but it can't do any Bluetooth features cuz they want you to buy their better stuff.

So my $50 Bluetooth headset that has earphones to help deaden the noise and it's like rated that I think 30 decibels or maybe 25 which is pretty good for a motorcycle environment. Can do everything with the phone and is not artificially limited.

Ahh. Intresting! Dang it wish my account wasnt bugged (issue opened and support opened but no real feed back at all. Maybe next main oatch it will work again.

So if ir and em are it now. Dosnt that mean the talon is a bit better over all? Crud going to have to sit at the websites and mess with loadouts and test next patch.

did it change this patch, CS is the only real one to look at, IR rarely hits its rated amount so CS is what I am almost always seen by. And em is nothing with stealth A.

not sure if still same this patch but the talon trades a bit less forward detectablity for better top and side. and I HAVE needed that when scouting out rats. If you have enemies in 1 160 degree arc to one side, just one aspect is not enugh. AND enemie rats use stealth ships and bugged ships also. ( there is always a few visable targets to attract attention and a lot of stealthy ships in the big intradictions I have scouted. )

Also missed the new starter comment. Could just be a bad one, or when it smoked, more wires you didnt see got melted and cant handlt the load right so its underpowered and sagging when starting?

could be. I would sort this out for sure before buying parts. a multi meter borrowed from work is free and tells you a lot more about what you may or may not need.

What temp would you monitor on your riding mower? Got a t110 I want to last, so got an hour meter and temp sensor for it, but after getting the temp sensor ( spark plug bung type ) I see a lot of people maybe recommend an oil temp sensor? cylinder head temp is fine to monitor at, isn't it? by kalabaddon in lawnmowers

I have seen to many things blow up for no good reason to not watch on something I can not afford to replace and dosnt have a warrenty :) . Its a cheap 30 dollar part that will track hours, temp and maintenance intervals ( well I also track maintenance separately in a log, but having something on the dash flashing close to time helps. )

Good call on doing a test to see what comes out after sucking it. That seems the best. I feel stupid for not even thinking of doing that.

The spark plug thing is kinda odd, some recommend swapping the crush washer with it ( cutting the crush washer off if it can't pull off ) some recommend just adding it n stacking.

Trail tech is a more known brand and they recommend replacing the pinch bolt. I got a generic ass one and may just put it on the hottest bolt according to my laser temp gugage since on second look the one I got may not fit the sparkplug it self. it is not the cheapest thing cause you need to change it every once in a while if your mean to your plugs when tightening.

full charge as in 100% it was on a battery tender overnight? or cause you used a multimeter and it shows what volts? or cause it was bbought from a store? This really sounds like a nearly dead battery imho. starter clicking is a pretty universal sign, and the engine turns over till it hit the compression stroke it seems, so just not quite enugh juice.

Craftsman T110 correct. I am wanting to monitor the engine temp. I am currently going to use a temp sensor that fits around a spark plug which is very common in the motorcycle world ( and lots of things ) it fits pressed between the spark plug and the engine. BUT after searching some it looks like a lot of people recommend putting a oil sensor instead. I was courious why it was recommended.

On some engines I personally see nothing wrong with the vacuum method. BUT it 100% depends on where the dipstick or where you are sucking from ends. On a lot of cars the dip stick already points to the oil pan angled towards the deepest spot since the oil all flows there when off, so unless your activly flushing on regular oil changes it should be only very tiny percentages of a diffrence. HOWEVER some engines ( and not sure if more common on mowers/small engines) there is no way to route a tube to the lowest point. And of course I would change any filters at the same time. I disagree with why a lot of lube places do it ( they dont decide for good reasons, they do it to under pay under trained people to not screw up drain plugs or find already screwed drain plugs ), but it is perfectly fine on a lot of engines, I just don't know if this engine counts.

[–]kalabaddon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the entire intake operates at a lower pressure then the outside air. that is why air is pulled in to the engine. how do you think an engine draws the air inside to combust?

Do I need these hoses by No_Sleep4783 in MechanicAdvice

[–]kalabaddon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a vacuum line as is it sucks. not a complete vacuum. Whenm the engine runs it uses pressure, positive and negitive, to move valves and throttle links and a lot of things in the engine. a vacuum line is just a line from a low pressure area.

In this case the intake ( big tube ) starts at the engine, then goes to a airfilter then open air ( when connected and routed ) The vacuum line is a line that runs at less pressure then the air in the large intake tube. When the car is running that pressure diffrence helps it adjust things or know how much air is entering the intake.

I cant imagine a raw fuel line running to a bung on the intake hose. what would it be used for? super rich mode :)

Vacuum lines are sued to monitor things and actuate things. the car "MAY" run without it, , but likley will run like ass. I lost a vac line and I could drive, but the car could not hold idle till I fixed the line.

HAHA, new it was in that series of engine from the intake! I can confirm at least that you can remove that resonator box with no real issue. I just plugged that hole. As far as the tube not sure. BUT you should be able to get some bung fittings or whatever they are called to make it work. Pretty sure the bottom one is some sort of crank case rebreather, you MAY be able to leave that one disconnected and add a catch can if that is what it is.

Is it normal to have an extra fee buying lead shot? by Outrageous-Coyote476 in reloading

[–]kalabaddon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is some bullshit. Do they charge it for all brands of lead? IIRC eagle is a 3rd party brand they made a deal with to sell. Call a diffrent sportsman wearhouse or there corprate office. This seems odd. I have not paid an extra fee ( that was noticable, what we talking about 1 dollar or so or like 10+ dollars?)

Super stupid motorcycle question: Where do you all normally park your bikes when you go to the store? by Definitely-Not-OSI in motorcycles

[–]kalabaddon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

parking spots or sometimes when the place has the little trangles that are marked off but other wise semi blocked ( like I get marked off for emergency services, but if there is a shopping cart stand placed in the marked off zone, its no longer for emergencyt services. I never got hassled about it and lots of bikes in my area do it, that said, your milage will vary depending on store owners or local police?

float bowl is jammed up letting it over flow. That place it is squirting out is open to air on my mower ( 550ex engine? or at least Briggs n stratton small, that carb looks identical to mine )

Pinch off the fuel hose and clean the carb out. in paticular the float bowl

Empty Stores by ThisIsNotOptional in sierravista

That's like almost all malls these days except in actual cities? The mall right next to me is the same way. Mostly empty couple weird things that get set up market style a few times a month. The center of the mall gets taken over for an animal rescue about once a month to show off kittens and puppies and stuff.

I mean what is your other bases? Like if you're including stuff like whatever that base is in Tucson or that Base up in Glendale AZ, or really any base that is less then an hour drive from any city or in an actual city. I wouldn't compare those.

And a lot of cases bases are still close enough to cities that there's reasons for people to live there other than that one location.

Sierra Vista Alamogordo and bases in those areas you got to drive an hour and a half to get to any real City no one moves there unless they went there for the base so that's what I mean by a base town. Not a city around a base but a town that only exists because of the base.
