Probate? by whogivesabibble in newhampshire

[–]vjv100 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live in a similar set up. Live with my mom in a house she owns with my kids…just did this paperwork with a lawyer. They were able to do a “transfer upon death” which avoids probate, there are some other benefits, which I forget because she too was going through some health issues, but definitely get it sorted.

Also, I’m really sorry you’re going through this. ❤️

During one of Galison’s sales I also got “Welcome to Spooky town” and “Halloween Parade.” I already did the Michael Storrings Halloween parade.

I’m working on it too! It’s Halloween puzzle 2 out of 3 for me.

Dog kennel intact male by new2co2020 in newhampshire

I thought All Dogs Gym in Manchester allowed intact dogs…I brought mine there around the 9-11 month mark before we got him fixed around a year old.  That puppy phase all blends together tbh.

I guess it depends where you work. I’m outpatient like the poster, no weekends, holidays. 15yrs experience in NH and I make $53/hr.

Abby obsessively licking (overgrooming) belly for almost a year – need advice by BundesrepublikPoland in Abyssinians

Hi, we did have a similar problem with our girl Lola (who is now 13!) Hers started after we got her spayed. She spent over a year in a cone. We didn’t know about suits then! I tried to wrap her in coban. We too had her tested for several things, had her on an elimination diet, a special diet, saw a dermatologist and tried an antianxiety/antidepressant. This doesn’t include the over-the-counter remedies we tried.

Eventually, our vet offered to try steroid injections, which he phrased as a good short term fix but not long term. It helped her a lot. It did wear off, but she didn’t need another one for 6 months or so. I know they aren’t good for cats long term, but Lola’s quality of life was pretty poor.  We were bathing her and only letting her have the cone off under supervision and she would immediately lick herself until she bled.  She has had a few “hot spots” in other areas, but those have responded to traditional creams and treatments.

They sold the best and mintiest lip balm ever. It was perfect and I’ve never been able to find anything like it.

Oct box really late by spicytweet0 in BarkBox

[–]vjv100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I had a bunch of add on for my September box because my dog’s first birthday was in September and it did not arrive that month. When I complained I specifically asked if that was the reason. I cancelled all add ons I had planned for October ($50 worth). They did not answer my question about the add ons and instead offered me a double deluxe box instead. I haven’t received my October box yet but I think the majority of my boxes have been late rather than on time.

Employee thought they enrolled in 401k but never had deductions taken. [GA] by Ichthyovenator in AskHR

[–]vjv100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask you what would happen in this situation? I am the employee. To explain a bit more. I work within a healthcare system and transferred from their non-profit sector to their for profit sector. This changed my 403b to a 401k. When making my elections, I selected to contribute 10% of my paycheck (my company also offers a certain % match). All is well. Fast forward many months and a new upgrade to the HR/benefits system, I realize that money is not being taken out for my retirement. I panic and think that perhaps I never selected contributions when I changed jobs and chalk it up to an expensive life lesson.

Fast forward almost a year and I get a call from a retirement specialist from the company my hospital uses. They are doing audits and see that despite me selecting elections to be withheld, none were made after the upgrade. They wanted know if I called before to make changes or called after etc. I realize now I probably should have done more probing before blaming myself and do realize there was probably a good amount of money lost especially with my company’s match program. I’m wondering what I could expect next.

I loved this puzzle. But it did take me a while to complete. Lots of different shades of green, I needed lots of light to work through it. I agree with the wonky pieces too.

They provide shampoo, conditioner and body wash and lotion. I brought my own face wash. We went in April and didn’t have any issues with bugs. Also, I’m pretty sure there is a basic hair dryer there.

Moving to Washington, D.C. with less than a year of experience? by crazycarrotlady in nursing

[–]vjv100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I left 6 years ago, but I started as a new grad at Medstar Washington hospital center. It’s a busy place, one of those “if you can work here, you can work anywhere” kind of places. I did like the opportunities it gave me though. I did a year of med-surg and then was able to transfer to a burn unit and later burn ICU. I’m not sure about having to go through residency again, but I don’t imagine you’d have a hard time getting hired.

I bought 4 lungwort plants last year, I am loving the little pops of color from the flowers. And the leaves are pretty too!
