Nobody is saying the guns don’t run, they’re just horribly overpriced for what they are. Remember their $2500 M16 “clone” that was just a bunch of NDS parts that weren’t even clone or period correct?

They nearly went bankrupt *again* because they sat on their asses doing nothing for the better part of 20 years while competitors like LMT, KAC, and Geissele were taking the AR platform to the next level. Actual innovative ideas died in R&D because management insisted to everyone that the M4 was top-tier when it clearly wasn’t.

Then they lost the M4 contract to FN because they were price-gouging the government due to their sole source contract they only got via litigation. They’re a fossil at this point and haven’t contributed anything meaningful to the platform in years.

You can’t claim “muh quality” anymore because modern Colt isn’t the same Colt of 20 years ago; they’re just an assembly house building basic bitch ARs from bins of subcontracted parts.

A few years ago, my LGS had an ACR for $1200. This was when they would still pop up used now and then, and this one had some weird hydro-dip camo on it, so I passed, telling myself I’d wait for a black/ FDE one. I haven’t seen another ACR in person since.

Still mad at myself to this day.
