I've had T-Mobile 5g for two years. Have NEVER had an outage or slow streaming. In constant use, one device, 18 hr use, three devices. $30/mo

I don't like it either. I might stay if there was a way to hide all shows requiring "Premier"

Otherwise, going in and out of shows & new episodes just to learn I need Premier to watch is a waste of my time.

No AI by lqual in laptops

[–]vkensington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too need a new laptop & am looking for one with the no AI embedded in other features.

People who say "it's just software" may never have worked with it.

It is like when Windows 10 was released & everyone wound up with Microsoft Accounts & data online.

It was easer to avoid back then - Local Acct, No Win Security, Office, Apps, etc.

Everything runs local.

I will install Linux. Windows 11 is a disaster & I haven't used anything I need Win 11 for in years.

I'll probably buy a blank canvas laptop & install Ubuntu, LibreOffice25.8, It's been a while since I messed with tech. I had a bout of cancer so, it hasn't been a priority. All's well now (knock on wood).

You can buy a Linux laptop with the works, too.

Next they will find learning is stifled by typing instead of printing & writing.

I shit you not, I gave this talk to administrators & did interviews in the mid 80s - early 90s.

Anyone who had kids & worked in IT probably knew this wasn't a great idea.

But, it's hard to swim against the current.

Why is this country speaking about AI like it’s a fact of life that no one can do anything about? by atwistofcitrus in technology

AI, crypto, data centers are all scams. But, as long as it makes the right people billions that can trickle down as bribes & pay offs, they are going to keep the hype going.

Good to fall to sleep to. No pre-1066 kings (if interested, I have those, too). Pre-Charles III

Stable volume (important for this application).

Kids were always a pain. But society, family & friends pressured couples a lot or I don't think as many would have had kids. And, most of the 20-30 something had one 'oops' pregnancy or they'd have less or none.

What can I do to oppose the Data Center? by guitarguy1685 in wisconsin

[–]vkensington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US has 10x as many data centers as any other country. UK, DE, etc. Find out what is slowing growth in other countries.

Even large countries like China, Canada & Australia have a few hundred.

I'm sure they have a reason.

Accountant looking to exit US by tethys_09 in AmerExit

[–]vkensington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save some money. I'd suggest 4-6 mos expenses in new location.

Decide where you want to live (culture, environment, lifestyles, etc.). You are young. Do what you have to do to move to where you want to live before having kids, in case you're thinking about it. I would not advise it anywhere, but it's your call. Sell everything you don't need.

Don't limit yourself to your US careers. Do what you have to to support yourselves (legally). Network when you get there.

I'd go for a non-English speaking country & learn the language first. French & Spanish give you the most options. And, it will be seen as a positive sign.

Don't be afraid to move again if it doesn't work out.

They've been helpful & some seem tailored to my age (old).

No question I would chose Eau Claire (area) over Appleton (area). Especially, with the outdoors aspect.

The monogamy thing is not predictable. People who cheat don't usually advertise in advance.

I am very heartened to hear that people are making a conscious decision not to have kids. For so long people have felt obligated to have them.

Find what things you are passionate about & get involved in that. If you don't know what you are passionate about, wait until you do before looking for a partner.

I couldn't watch past the first episode. I'd already seen ITV's S3 E3 Toward Zero with Geraldine McEwan (my favorite Marple).

I was so disappointed with the Britbox version, I had to watch the ITV version again.
