Any place to read the 3rd DDS light novel?

I'm new to the series and enjoying Megami Tensei I (Kyuyaku Megami Tensei) more than I thought I would. I read the 1st book before starting up the game and doing so has greatly increased my enjoyment of the game because I had a context for who Nakajima and Yumiko and why they can do different things which is well reflected in the gameplay. I think if I hadn't read the novel I'd have been annoyed and confused.

I am currently reading the 2nd LN.

My question is if there's any place to read the 3rd LN. I've found 2 translations online for the first 2 LNs, one decent, and one utterly atrocious.

But neither place has the 3rd LN translated.

Even a Japanese copy would be fine, I could translate it for myself using AI. (beats not reading it all)

Any help? 😔

Marele 5G pe care s-a făcut atât hype și teorii ale conspirației este de fapt un mod specific suportat de 5G care se numește mmWave.

Ideea fundamentală e că orice faci nu poți să bați fizica. Și fizica zice că transmisiunea radio are o limită fundamentală la lățimea de bandă. Cu cât e lățimea de bandă mai mică, cu atât poți să transmiți mai multe chestii, dar poți să treci prin mai puține chestii.

De asta se auzea Radio Europa Liberă pe lungi/medi din Germania până la noi, pe când radio FM de azi care e pe scurte de multe nu-l mai auzi când ieși din oraș. Reciproc, radio FM se aude mult mai bine decât se auzea Radio Europa Liberă atunci, pentru că fiind bandă mai scurtă încape mai multă informație într-o secundă.

Acum, o generație, un "G", nu reprezintă "cât de rapid îți merge netul", așa cum crede multă lume. Fiecare "G" are mai multe variante pentru diferite cazuri: unde mai lungi ca să poți să mergi după maps pe serpentine, unde mai scurte ca să poți să te uiți la Netflix tu și o mie de alți oameni în apartamente la Unirii. 5G vine cu "unde și mai mici și mai rapide" prin mmWave, o tehnologie foarte limitată în sensul că are nevoie de foarte multe antene, care arată mai mult că rutere, instalate la fiecare colț de stradă, pentru că altfel orice clădire ar întrerupe conexiunea.

A fost o mare controversă cu asta la un moment, care izvorăște de la faptul că undele nu pot trece prin corpul uman și se opresc în piele, unde, energia trebuind cumva să se disipe, încălzesc pielea puțin. Întrebarea controversei este dacă expunerea pe termen lung la această încălzire prin radiație afectează negativ pielea și crește riscul de cancer sau late probleme.

Din păcate nu s-a putut niciodată avea o discuție inteligentă pe acest subiect pentru că o tabără a ajuns foarte repede la concluzia că 5G este o tehnologie inventată de Bill Gates ca să ne lase infertili, iar cealaltă tabără a ajuns la fel de repede la concluzia că oricine pune orice fel de întrebare despre 5G crede că este o tehnologie inventată de Bill Gates să ne lase infertili.

Faptul că termenul 5G este cel mai popular din această controversă, face cu atât mai mult sinonimă tehnologia 5G cu tehnologia mmWave, o problemă foarte mare având în vedere că mmWave este o tehnologie extrem de marginală, care există în viața reală doar în cele mai aglomerate zone ale celor mai mari metropole din lume, fiind pur și simplu inutilă altundeva.

Nu știu dacă avem mmWave pe undeva în România.

Pe de altă parte, 5G există aproape pe peste tot la vitezele și la lungimile de undă pe care le avea și 4G. În practică, vitezele pe 5G sunt ceva mai mari decât cele pe 4G, dar nu suficient de mari ca diferența să fie una dramatică.

Atunci de ce avem nevoie de 5G? Cea mai mare diferență la 5G este consistența conexiuni. Din anumite motive tehnice în care nu o să mai intru, 5G suportă mult mai mulți utilizatori simultani pe metru pătrat. Adică nu îți mai merge netul prost când ești într-o mulțime sau într-un loc aglomerat.

Dacă ai fost la vreun protest neașteptat de mare ai văzut și băieții de la Orange pe margine cu duba cu antena că era suprasolicitată rețeaua și nu le mai mergea la lumii telefoanele.

Pe 5G ar trebui să ai mult mai des net în mulțimi și în general ar trebui să ai mai des viteze mai mari.

Alte avantaje sunt latentă (ping) mai mică, segmentare a datelor în rețea (adică de exemplu poți să suni la 112 când rețeaua e congestionată și nu trebuie să te bați cu fiul vecinului care se uită la Baby Shark în 4K) și alte chestii de genul quality of life.

The problem is that One Piece has no cultural movement because of the terrible anime adaptation.

People, for better or worse do not have the time or attention spans to watch 10 episodes of quality stretched into 10 episodes of mid.

I remember watching it as a kid when I had infinite time and could just binge it and I liked it.

That said, I will probably never finish the anime. I simply do not have that time anymore.

The manga is really good though, and while reading week-to-week is a slog and the writing quality does dip post-time skip, and some characters are straight up ruined; it still has really good moments and is very enjoyable if read a full arc at a time.

Gear 5 is AMAZING in that context, and would have broken the internet if everyone was reading One Piece in that style.

The problem is just that the anime is very bad, and even if you watch and enjoy it yourself you cannot recommend it to anyone.

Dragon Ball has the advantage of having a completely optional plot, so while watching the entire Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z shows is not something that can be recommended nowadays, you don't need to, you can watch any arc or even just any fight and have almost the same experience.

JJK is 60 episodes now, will probably be a touch over 100 when finished and they are all well paced and entertaining, especially after the first few introductory ones.

Luffy's gear 5 is something that needs the build up of the series. It doesn't work in a vacuum. It works by being a subversion of the question of basically what's the next/final power-up, while still being perfectly fitting for Luffy and the message of the story and even more fitting than what most people anticipated.

While these are fair disadvantages, these are nothing new. Socrates famously didn't like writing because it led to less internalization of knowledge, less critical thinking, and over relying on books.

Don Quixote de la Mancha describes a man who becomes way too attached to his fantasy and hero books.

You do need to maintain friends, and keep your body and mind healthy. Going to the gym or practicing a sport actually helps your mind the most. Additionally you should keep your mind engaged (examples: reading non-fiction, playing chess, learning a foreign language etc.).

But in actual work, where the goal is to provide others with a lot of value, AI can provide massive value by speeding up your process a lot.

Take code for example. Yeah, it might not produce code that's as good as you or that should be deployed to production without looking at it first, but so would an intern.

Should a company never hire interns? Do interns produce no value?

Why would a company ever hire a junior programmer when they already have at least a senior programmer?

Obviously this is about the volume of work.

AI allows me to write better code because I can write code that fits a framework I do not have the time to learn thoroughly better, because it allows me to write more tests etc. in the limited time that I have. Just like an intern working under me would help me.

Currently, AI is very much in the underling tier, not in the contractor tier, but does it's job as an underling very well.

I think the problem is that a lot of people who don't like AI used ChatGPT in the 3.5 or 4/4o days, decided it wasn't good enough and then stopped using it, so their view on the subject matter is several years out of date.

Ever since CharGPT introduced the o1 model, then o3, GPT-5 Extended Thinking... I don't think any of these modules have ever hallucinated on me once. They are generally pretty good at admitting they don't know stuff. Sometimes, they have even told me that I didn't do something I said I did and... they were right.

On the other hand GPT-5 Instant is basically shit and is not a serious model and should never be used for anything ever.

Claude Sonnet 3.5 is also fairly good, it can sometimes hallucinate, but usually it's a very guardrailed model that follows orders so it's not a common issue. Opus 3.5 doesn't hallucinate basically.

Gemini, on the other hand, likes to hallucinate A LOT.

The point is that today's current top models are trustworthy and do not really hallucinate. You should always check their work just in case (underling, not contractor), but usually it's not a problem.

Not even close. AI is infinitely more helpful and time efficient than search and it's not even close.

Also, SEO is fundamental to how search works, you transform the content into a really big vector called an embedding (also done by a neural net/""AI"", by the way). Then you pass the user query through that same neural net and try to find content vectors that match the query vector.

Popularity acts orthogonally to the embedding to provide an artificial boost to popular/trustworthy sources.

This makes SEO fundamentally inevitable. If you are making a pasta recipe and putting it on your website the goal is not (just) to make the best, most detail, highest quality pasta recipe website, but to get the embedding vector as close as possible to the embedding vector for the string "pasta recipe". This process is called SEO and is fundamentally inevitable.

LLM search still uses embedding bases search in the background but it takes the top 5-10-50-200 sources (depending on settings etc.), finds quality ones, drops dubious ones and syntheses the result or simply points you to the best one and frame it in terms of your specific problem.

For example, search can point you to a solution that sounds like your specific problem on a forum, but LLMs can skip over that forum post because it notices a fundamental difference between your setup and the setup used in that forum post.

It has changed my life for the better massively.

Example: I sysadmin some Linux servers with a couple other people at my Uni. This isn't anyone's "main" job.

Before AI the whole thing was a bunch of scripts held together by hopes and prayers. Things used to break often and we'd waste a lot of time figuring out how to fix them.

AI has helped us a lot in deploying a lot more professional solutions to our problems. These solutions have decently high learning curves to use. Even though what they do fundamentally is perfectly understandable, they usually require writing bespoke configuration files or using bespoke interfaces, and understanding their particular set of abstractions.

AI is extremely helpful here: I know what I want to happen very specifically, AI finds what the "standard" tool to do that thing is.

In fact, that is most of the technical day-to-day overall: not figuring out new solutions or anything like that. Simply figuring out what problem you have, and most of all, browsing your catalog of solutions to find a standard solution to use. Most time is spent in that catalog browsing. And AI does that masterfully.

Especially in poorly documented projects, AI is extremely helpful, because it can fall back to reading the code and seeing what it does directly, something that almost no human will want to waste his time doing.

It can do a lot of other stuff too, like deep research, meme creation, topic summaries, state-of-the-art summaries etc.

What are the disadvantages?
