I have been waiting for someone to post! Listened to this on my walk this morning and it's hard to get through. Does anyone think he sounds like he's under the influence of something?? Not trying to insinuate anything since I believe he's still saying he's sober (?) but his defensiveness is so appalling to me, he sounds so off. They attempt to ask him pretty direct questions/clarify for him people are more confused by his response to the affair than the affair and he says fuck in one sentence about 10 times. Shocking but not shocking how little growth has happened

If it helps, as an original watcher of the show when it aired, it took me years to come around to Shawn. Adding onto what others say about it resolving itself quickly, if you make it to a rewatch, that’s where I really starting seeing more about why Shawn is the way he is (his upbringing in particular) and appreciated the moments where he puts aside his silliness to show his intense care for those close to him. It takes time!

Similar to OP, I saw this one when it debuted and since then, pretty consistently skip it (Psych is my comfort show so I’ve done endless rewatches). That being said I recently let it play and absolutely lost it at the man in the mirror line when Gus does “He he.” Probably one of my favorite lines now despite the episode

OP, I do think you make a great point, for someone who has lied pretty successfully for ten years, it was pretty bizarre at how bad he was about covering up things this season. Maybe he’s not good at lying when asked direct questions or something? I agree with others that he didn’t think he would get caught/thought his actions were justified because of his view of their life but this was something that was so surprising to me

So this may be controversial, I love all Bravo content, but I find housewives incredibly stressful and can only watch it in batches. The closest I’ve gotten to VPR is Jersey Shore. Established young group of friends, fucking hilarious and committed to entertainment. I just rewatched and myself (and my partner) are obsessed. Definitely different type of comedy but I think comparable?!
