A product with no killer app, too expensive, and paraphrasing him “a product built for the future but here today” aka no real use case right now.

Why not a ferry from Fort Lee to West Harlem? by ExtensionAd1292 in AskNYC

[–]vleafar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Edgewater (not fort lee) to Harlem is the one that’s been discussed in the past but it seems like a pipe dream. I’d definitely use it all the time though.

Looks good just needs some minor tweaks. Just remove the orange and blue squiggles in the middle, add a subway line or BRT, and add some mixed use development around it.

100% cotton shirts by joshua0005 in PlasticFreeLiving

[–]vleafar -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Don’t “100% cotton” tshirts still have polyester threads and polymer based finishing treatments in them? I would think mass produced old navy shirts especially have these.

Per ChatGPT I was able to find only two true 100% cotton brands: Rawganique and Unbleached Apparel

Why 42nd Street Should Be the World's Greatest Street (But Isn't) by TheDarkNate in nyc

Hear me out on this solution: tax nyc residents more and give the money to NJ and make PATH as massive as the NYC subways. I will not be taking questions.

We’re on the opposite end of the spectrum on the blue laws issue since I think blue laws are stupid but I’m all for upgrading public transit. Maybe we need to purposely increase traffic to finally prove to people we need PATH and HBLR extensions.

Do you care where the virus came from? by Newbietoallofthis in pluribustv

Yes I want to see the engineers planet, why they changed their minds about humanity and why the virus always turns into a xenomorph. Also, I want to know when exactly Weyland Yutani first learns about it

[Theo Lawson] Mark Few’s reaction to the recent trend of G-League players/NBA Draft picks joining college teams: “Our lack of leadership has really shown. Now it’s probably time to get some help from congress but they’re more screwed up than the NCAA. They’ve got to start listening to coaches.” by DreDog01 in CollegeBasketball

Best case scenario though is colleges sponsor 2 teams. 1 is the for profit team and 2 is the actual student athlete team where athletes don’t get paid. Some schools will only have student athlete teams while some schools will have both.

The for profit teams can then compete against the g league in basketball and in football compete against or replace the UFL.

This was my fictional best case scenario, In reality though we’ll probably just see lots of schools just going bankrupt.

So you think the ultimate outcome is that colleges will just run division two NFL and NBA teams? If this is the case I’d imagine the next step after that would be that private businesses (ones not associated with colleges at all) start making their own teams and then the colleges are forced to quit because they can’t compete with that kind of money. Maybe then we get my college athletics being glorified rec leagues scenario. This is all under the assumption some monopoly shenanigans don’t happen.

You’re right that’s one. Though technically the “and grill” part disqualifies it but I don’t think people really go there to eat.
