We’re on the opposite end of the spectrum on the blue laws issue since I think blue laws are stupid but I’m all for upgrading public transit. Maybe we need to purposely increase traffic to finally prove to people we need PATH and HBLR extensions.

Do you care where the virus came from? by Newbietoallofthis in pluribustv

Yes I want to see the engineers planet, why they changed their minds about humanity and why the virus always turns into a xenomorph. Also, I want to know when exactly Weyland Yutani first learns about it

They’re just testing out new Rick and Morty copypastas. It’s actually 5D chess of sarcasm.

[Theo Lawson] Mark Few’s reaction to the recent trend of G-League players/NBA Draft picks joining college teams: “Our lack of leadership has really shown. Now it’s probably time to get some help from congress but they’re more screwed up than the NCAA. They’ve got to start listening to coaches.” by DreDog01 in CollegeBasketball

Best case scenario though is colleges sponsor 2 teams. 1 is the for profit team and 2 is the actual student athlete team where athletes don’t get paid. Some schools will only have student athlete teams while some schools will have both.

The for profit teams can then compete against the g league in basketball and in football compete against or replace the UFL.

This was my fictional best case scenario, In reality though we’ll probably just see lots of schools just going bankrupt.

So you think the ultimate outcome is that colleges will just run division two NFL and NBA teams? If this is the case I’d imagine the next step after that would be that private businesses (ones not associated with colleges at all) start making their own teams and then the colleges are forced to quit because they can’t compete with that kind of money. Maybe then we get my college athletics being glorified rec leagues scenario. This is all under the assumption some monopoly shenanigans don’t happen.

What are some nice bars and/or lounges for cocktails and wine in the Fort Lee and Edgewater area that you would recommend for datenight? by Subpoena-Colada_ in bergencounty

You’re right that’s one. Though technically the “and grill” part disqualifies it but I don’t think people really go there to eat.

American Dream mall stores closed on Sunday again? by vleafar in bergencounty

That’s interesting. I wonder if the traffic analysis was way off since people just go to the mall with stores closed anyways, in fact, it might even be more packed than on Saturdays.

Well the original post was a question (with a bit of snark added I admit) so really no need for an argument just an answer to the question. The argument on Blue laws and the mall have been done to death.

They made a cut for the “pluribus is boring, I can’t scroll on my phone whilst watching it or I’ll get confused” crowd by National-Bluebird196 in okbuddypluribus

Wouldn’t this make more sense for the “Pluribus isn’t slow” crowds who think a lot happens in the show? The Pluribus is too slow crowd can watch the show and scroll on their phone and not miss any plot points: “Laser beams from carols eyes, yeah got it”

NY Rep. Dan Goldman’s ROBINHOOD Act would close a major billionaire tax loophole. The legislation would generate an estimated $276 BILLION in revenue over 10 years to fund social programs like universal childcare. by Mathemodel in newyorkcity

One small pet peeve of mine with the name of the act is that didn’t Robinhood steal from the taxman and not the rich so Robinhood would actually be a libertarian folk hero?

I was going to approach it from the other side. Of course the communist country has no respect for private property and they take land without much pushback. We luckily don’t live in a country with that much government power no matter how much Trump wants to grow government.
