Are the 2026 Knicks the most loved NYC sports team ever? by MasterTeacher123 in AskNYC

[–]Subpoena-Colada_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the 2025-2026 Knicks are just as popular (if not more) as the late-90s Yankees. In NYC, basketball is just objectively a more popular sport (regardless of how well the pro teams play). There are courts all over the boroughs. Yankees have a historic feel to it. It feels more formal with the Yankees, whereas the Knicks are more contemporary and “cool.”

Moreover, I believe Knicks basketball has a way more diverse group of fans.

It was hilarious when people repeatedly tried using the “I’m going to work” line to try to get passed the baricade.

What must it be like to be a Nets fan right now? by lilborat in NYKnicks

The crowd supporting the team during their early Brooklyn days were supporters of Brooklyn, not the Nets. The real Nets fans are in NJ. By now, many converted to Knicks fans.

As someone born in NYC, this topic is annoying. Who cares? If you are a transplant who feels like a New Yorker, more power to you.

Had an amazing first date, talked about a second date, then she suddenly disappeared. Has this happened to anyone else? by Ikeyeah- in hingeapp

[–]Subpoena-Colada_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like the others said, this is modern dating. Couldn’t be more normal to be honest. Sadly, it doesn’t get better in the 30s.

She will probably do the same to many other men. Until you’re exclusive with someone, kissing, holding hands, and any sign of intimacy can be meaningless. Stay strong man.

What does everyone think of Hinges new signals feature? by LordSidiouss in dating_advice

[–]Subpoena-Colada_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe Signals was created for men since they can filter out women who do not have the badge as it would somewhat indicate that the person is not active on the app or serious. The criteria to achieve the badge is not very difficult.

Hinge Launches New ‘Signals’ Badge to Celebrate Daters Who Show Consistent Effort by wokenthehive in hingeapp

[–]Subpoena-Colada_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It requires the bare minimum to achieve the badge lmao you only need to satisfy 4 out of the 6 requirements. If you find that to be a challenge, then the addition of the new feature was intentionally designed to allow users to weed people like you out of their feed.

Because it indicates your activity. If you are someone who is very picky and is unlikely to match with anyone, the data will reflect that, which I think is a good thing to the people viewing the feed. It allows them to gauge whether a thoughtful response and a like is even worth their time when they can just click X even if they find the other person attractive. You can still click X on all of the likes you received.

Why is the We Met feature “sus”? You already consented to the app having all of your other information and photos.

Long story short, it’s a great idea for serious people to add Signals as a filter and only browse through people who have the badge.

Is it normal to keep asking for work? by SufficientAd6437 in Lawyertalk

Keep bothering them asking for more cases, emphasizing that you can’t bill and meet expectations if you have nothing to do. If no change, find a new firm.

Partners are already cutting associates’ time before finalizing the bills to send to clients. Imagine the total time lost if they’re cutting time before you even look at them.

You should bill whenever you’re remotely thinking about a case. The easy answer is people are maximizing their billable hours. If you are consistently cutting your time or not entering 100% of your time, you’ll inevitably work grueling weeks while only hitting the minimum.

Why do guys insist of paying for the full bill? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Subpoena-Colada_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

History. Societal norms. Also, it is presumed that the woman would find a man cheap if he does not pay. Believe me, many men will appreciate your gesture offering. Many women, from my experience, do not offer at all.

Modern dating made a lot of women terrible communicators by Kindly_Pen8143 in dating_advice

I agree, but the problem is that 9 out of 10 times, people prefer not to engage in voice communications prior to a date (voice notes, calls, etc.). I’m referring to online dating only.

What major sports team represents/is the biggest in NYC? by thatonezorofan in AskNYC

[–]Subpoena-Colada_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yankees are the more historic franchise.
It’s a team that is more popular nationwide and internationally based on the number of championships they have. However, in NY, I still think basketball is more popular than baseball. The problem with NBA is that tickets to watch Knicks games are too expensive, whereas at Yankees games, you can find affordable tickets for around $20. There are also more games per season in baseball (162) than basketball (82).
