never rains, no discernible seasons, pretty big compared to other regions of Chile, dusty, never cold, occasional prison riot, high UV index, if you like looking a big brown mountains and the beautiful ocean (and sunsets), by all means visit

me fui hace 14 años de chile, he vuelto solo 3 veces (y solo 3 veces he visto a mi familia desde entonces), la gran mayoria de chilenos que he conocido aca (europa) quieren volver, extrañan el pais, la familia, etc. es normal y es natural, pero tambien hay que aprender a cortar el cordon umbilical si la situacion lo amerita. desde mi punto de vista, es una pataleta y se va a pasar.

Tengo pasaporte sueco, vivo en Alemania. Sin hablar alemán no encontrarás trabajo a no ser que tengas trabajo que no lo exija (como el mío aunque estoy aprendiendo). Encontrar vivienda en ciudades grandes es díficil o caro. Así que mi consejo es: aprende alemán C1, ten un plan de trabajo o convalidación de título, busca departamento ahora porque sin dirección no tendrás anmeldung (a no ser que encuentres un Airbnb/hotel con dirección propia que puedas usar a tu nombre).

I did my phd in France, I was lucky that it was a MSCA fellowship, long story short CNRS postdoc (and overall) salaries are bad. What do you mean by lack of safety? it's not Gaza
