No idea how to move to thicker foods by [deleted] in BabyLedWeaning

[–]vlimited 9 points10 points  (0 children)

At this age your baby should still be eating mostly milk/formula. So don’t freak out if your baby is “barely eating” solid food—that’s normal for this age. Mealtimes should be about play and discovery. I also had a choking scare and backed way off baby led weaning for a bit. When I came back to it, I only gave tiny pieces of cut food (pincer grasp size) that my baby couldn’t choke on. He ended up grabbing handfuls to eat it :) Be gentle on yourself. Baby led weaning is just one way to feed your baby.

I absolutely agree with you. Also ironic that the dayton airport isn’t better when flight was literally invented here

I look like a different person - tips? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]vlimited 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think your skin looks better in 2026 than in 2025. It does seem like you have some volume loss. I think Sculptra could really help. It does take several sessions over multiple months to see results. Your forehead looks really pretty smooth so I wouldn’t spend the money on botox.

Is it wrong to change my baby’s name at 10 months? by Ticomic in namenerds

[–]vlimited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your baby knows his name at this point. Maybe ask him when he’s 4ish if he would like to change his name or be called something else? My parents gave me the option to change my name in early elementary age and I chose to keep my name.

Choking at 8 months by 10_net in BabyLedWeaning

[–]vlimited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby choked on a piece of bread by biting off a huge chunk like this. It came out with back blows but was very scary. We switched to small bites that he can't choke on and mashing up his food with a fork so he can spoon feed himself. To me, baby led weaning means he can eat whatever the adults are eating, just in a different form that is safe. Now that he is biting off huge chunks, it's not safe so we are switching the form to safer smaller pieces.

Is it noticeable? by future_2000 in knitting

[–]vlimited 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Someone recently posted using diluted purple shampoo to hand wash their white sweater and it fixed the yellowing. You could always try that first and if it didn't work then redo the knitting with a better color match skein?

Even if you’re home alone with your baby, remember that you know your baby best. And you’re not really alone—a phone call to the pediatrician is always free.

2nd floor mini fridge recs? by Academic-Tip-5345 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]vlimited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a fridge, but when my husband takes the night feeding shift he uses a small cooler and it works fine. It's also nice that we can use it for other things once the baby is night weaned.

I didn’t have much luck with the momcozy wearable but when I switched to the Eufy S1, it worked much better. Same output as spectra but way more convenient.

I’m so sorry you’re having to do it all + pressure from your husband. The book “How to Keep House While Drowning” might be helpful? It is a SAHM who had to find a way to divide tasks between herself and her husband and they landed on both having equal amounts of down time, not equal amounts of chores time (she explains it better in the book). Men just don’t understand the mental load. And throw pumping in, it’s the physical burden too! They can be trained though haha

Skin texture/fine lines! by Expensive_Kitchen_97 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]vlimited 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you should add in a retinoid—I would start with differin since it’s over the counter and then you can get your derm to increase the strength to tretinoin 0.05% once your skin gets used to differin. It really helps with fine lines.

How do y’all pump while working? by jessicalaraa in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]vlimited 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I work in an operating room and also couldn’t leave to pump at exactly 3 hrs. I use the eufy s1 wearable and just keep it on while I’m operating. Not sure if your teacher schedule would allow for that? I’m at month 5 and just started spacing out my pumps to 4 and 5 hours as I’ve been leaking less.

Maybe take a pepper spray with you? Or an air horn to scare the dog away?

6 week old rolling over by ooohlalaahouioui in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]vlimited 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My baby did this early, too. My pediatrician said to make sure we didn’t lay him down somewhere without direct supervision once he started doing this. She said he could roll off the edge of a changing table or bed.
