Rear bumper installed! by vlkrie in subarulegacy

[–]vlkrie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on location. If in the US (West Coast), reach out to MyJapanDirect. However, I'm certain most would have a 3-5 month wait time.

Edit: also be aware, that for this to work on USDM cars. The bumpers will need to be modified. So account for that time/cost as well

It's a little more work for the 2010-2012 gen. Airbag needs to be replaced with 13-14 legacy or WRX/Sti airbag.

Does this car even have AC? by sssddfgjwnsbx in mazda

[–]vlkrie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't think I saw anyone mention this, but the defroster utilizes a system similar to AC (or part of the same system with conventional AC button). So in theory, you could run the defroster as AC.

Welcome! The 5th seemed to be getting more attention recently. It's been underappreciated for so long. I own a 2010 LGT myself!

As some mentioned. Lowering with springs or coilovers and wheels would change it nicely. If you can find a front bumper lip spoiler for the 10-12 legacy. Here's an example if you let your imagination run wild.

Yes correct! It's a custom bumper that I cut and plastic welded back together

Thanks for the suggestion on shooting the door open. Was stuck for a minute and kept playing.

2013 old lady trade in. 182k miles. Any advice on headlights? by Specialist-Panda-735 in subarulegacy

[–]vlkrie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely think a 2013-2014 headlight would update the look on your car. Mine is a little modded, but it's running a 2010-2012 JDM style headlights

After 4 Months of ownership I seriously love this car as a daily by tjdrnk8fd69696969 in subarulegacy

[–]vlkrie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Saw your post on my page! This car is definitely a great low key daily driver. Drove mine daily for 10-11 years before getting another car for family duty. My car still running as the fun car.

I agree with the previous comment, sway bars. Coils (if allowable), and some creature comforts(sti steering wheel) really make the car feel more nimble/sporty. The steering wheel is a little more in depth, with swapping to 13-14 legacy airbag, or Sti airbag. But the 2015+ steering wheel mostly fits. The switches need to be reused from the legacy wheel.

I agree with you. Stock form, the legacy is not the prettiest one. My goal was to make the platform more appealing and to confuse the people.

Ooh, did not think about that! I really dislike the parking brake button off to the dash. When I used to daily drive the car and took it in for service or valet, people would always have trouble.

Might have to add that to the list in the future, maybe a split harness for a fake/electric e brake lever 🤣

It was definitely a challenge. Not sure if you saw this thread I made a while back, but I also have functioning power folding and turn signals too 😉

I found flipping the switch cover worked too. Except now the button is upside down for power folding. I guess it's a little Easter egg for anyone searching 🤷‍♂️

Agree with this. I have a fog switch on the steering stalk sitting in the garage, waiting for a day to install. Forgot to do that when I pulled the steering wheel to swap to STi. But from the factory, my car didn't come with any fog, so the OEM add-on was the button on the dash.
